Blazers are pyrite, may look like gold but you aren't getting much for them.

    Not making it past Lakers.

True, but they have a better chance with bradley he know how to run their offense. Without Bradley they only won 2 games in the bubble.

Best of 7......Lakers need 3 more games.....Hope Rockets can end Thunder in two, for 4-0 sweep.
Steven Adams has been -3 (game 1) and -26 (game 2). Thunder are in a dilemma like we were
last season.....big negative while Capela played vs Warriors. Do you sit him?

The longer the Lakers series goes the better......time for Westbrook to heal.

Lakers have learned their offense stinks and have learned to lean on their defense. Their defense is good
enough to keep a wounded Lillard in check for the rest of the series. It’s like when you hit your thumb with a
hammer; you tend to hit that thumb against everything it seems. Every time he drives that hand will probably
be hit. Plus the off hand is your guide hand when shooting. I don’t expect MVP bubble level Lillard from this
    point on.

Now second question, who will the Lakers attack? It will be against the Rockets interior as a whole or unit.
Help defense helps interior defenders in a swarm like wolf pack.

First game with Covington Feb 6, 2020 at Lakers.
    AD....40:16 (mins)....14-21 (FGA).....667 (FG%).....0 (3PA)....4-5 (FT)....32 pts......0 (TOV)..... —4 (+/-)
    .........11-16 (< 5 ft) 68.8%
    LeBron 6-10 (< 5 ft) 60.0%

my internet is giving me problems. I will send you a continuation on this later today.

    cont’d from post #105
    @DeBeards

So in summary from Feb game. AD and LeBron were killing it near the rim; but didn’t kill it enough....
resulted in a 10 point loss to the Rockets.

    AD averaged 26.1 points a game at 51.5% (FG%)
Harden averaged 34.3 points a game. Advantage Houston/Harden, because Harden is use to scoring 36-ish points
per game.....is AD, who had a monster game vs Rockets on Feb 6th, able to kick it up to mid-30’s consistently?

    Bubble seeding game Rockets-Lakers: 08-06-2020
    AD: 17 points.......5-8 (FG).... .625 (FG%)....... - 9 (+/-).....7 (TOV)....4-5 ( < 5 ft)..(80%)
    Kuzma................................................................................................5-7 ( < 5 ft)...(71.4%)
    LeBron...............................................................................................zero attempts
I think LeBron was watching us. Studying us. Looking to see how we send our defense at the post up Laker.

    1st round Lakers-Blazers: ( < 5 ft)
    I know it’s not just AD/LeBron/Kuzma ...
    AD (2 games)..........6.5 - 9.0 attempts per game.......72.2%
    J MeGee (2 games)....4.0 - 5.5 attempts......72.7% (mostly lob-dunks)
    Kuzma (2 games).......1.5 - 2.5 attempts.....60%
    LeBron James (2 games)...6.0 - 10.5 attempts......57.1%
    D12 (2 games).................2.5 - 4.5 attempts..........55.6%
    ———————————————————————————
So these main 5 suspects are equaling 63.5% at < 5 ft vs the Blazers in two games.

Now you see how AD hit 68.8% at < 5 ft against the Rockets on Feb 6th and lost by 10......what if scores all the
points near the rim like he is vs the Blazers (72.2%)? Might close the gap.

But would the Lakers sit D12? Stop LeBron from shooting near the rim? Kuzma and his 60%? The misses can end
up as fast breaks the other way (especially if teams are spreading the floor with 3-pt shooters). Rockets getting
the numbers at the other end....4 on 5 break or 4 on 3 for an open 3 pt shot. If the Lakers aren’t hitting over 70% in
the < 5 ft as a team (main player group). We might be in trouble if AD gets 30 attempts near < 5 ft.....but I doubt
    he can carry that load.

The more AD and LeBron are trying to force action near the rim, the more they fall into the Rockets trap. Come
into my parlor said the spider to the fly. The more 2’s the Lakers force to attempt; the fewer 3’s they try.

    per basketball-reference.com (shooting): regular season:
    AD: dunks/layups/hook shots: .685 or 68.5% (safe to say dunk’s/layups < 5 ft from rim....HS’s near there)
LeBron James: dunks/layups/hook shots: .673 or 67.3% (safe to say dunks/layups < 5 ft from rim)

    AD: @ 3 ft to < 10 feet: .585 or 58.5%
    LeBron: @ 3 ft to < 10 ft: .562 or 56.2%

As for 3-point shooting in the playoffs: team 3P% in playoffs 19/20:
    7) Rockets...........36.1% (3P%)...........54.0 (3PA/gm)
    8) OKC................35.8% (3P%)...........33.5 (3PA/gm)

    12) Blazers..........33.3% (3P%)...........31.5 (3PA)

    15) Lakers...........27.1% (3P%)..........35.0 (3PA)
    16) Only 16 teams in playoffs.

Edited: so you can see AD/LeBron nay averaging 19.5 attempts in the < 5 ft range vs Blazers.
I think Harden/Westbrook can average 40 to 45 a piece vs the Lakers. Rondo coming back from injured hand. Caruso, Danny Green, KCP, Horton-Tucker, Waiters, Cook can’t stay with Westbrook.
KCP, LeBron, Markieff can’t stop Harden. Kuzma might be able to maybe slow down Harden. Maybe
alter a shot or two at least. Maybe.

No Avery Bradley and injured Rondo is really going to hurt the Lakers vs Houston. Hard to stop Harden
and Westbrook from setting table for all Rockets to feast on.

Lakers defense might be good enough to slow the high powered offense of the Blazers.....but they
will need more offense against the Rockets. ESPN going crazy over AD/LeBron last games.....and
they only reach 105 points. Those so-called monster games better be greater vs us (Rockets).
Because Harden/Westbrook are capable of going for 80 to 90 points (40 to 45 each) just between
the two. Need just 15 more baskets from the others to get 110 to 120. Even when teams smother
our 3 point shooters....we get about 9 of them made.

Not ready to face the refs next round. If you think this is bad this series, wait it till the next round.

That series hasn't been close after G1. The Lakers just underestimated their opponents out the door and are locked in now.

Yes, their 3pt shooting is still bad but their defense is superb.

Is there an option on 2k21 because the way we are playing it doesn't seem like the real Rockets will be there.

With the Blazers, we just gots to make Dame play defense and he’ll eventually tire out and his range will drop. With the lakers, we just gotta take the pace up and shoot 30 more threes than they do. Lebron’s old ass will tire by game 4. We got a better bench. This will come down to refs and if we brick 27 3’s in a row. Russ, please come back to life. I take back all those years of hating your guts and being happy when Beverly messes your knee up.

All that talking on Twitter had everybody believing the Dame hype. "Lillard is one of the best leaders in the NBA" - Doris Burke. Ok, as measured by?

Firstly, you know the Lakers won the series, right? It's over...

Secondly, I truly hope you're joking about ever being happy about Bev messing up Russ' knee. I never liked Russ much either, but that's messed up, man, and a good snapshot of everything that is wrong with sports fandom. Bev was also the easiest Rocket to hate of my lifetime.
