This is what I would like to see as well. But the thing is MDA has a short leash on him if he isn't hitting shots. much like any of the other bench players. So what do you do EG has shot like trash, yet gets all the minutes he can handle. That's why i mentioned on several occasions I've never seen EG benched for poor play. MDA loves the dude too much to do so
To be fair, that's not what you originally said: He's a below 30% pull-up shooter for his career and he is very hesitant to take them. He also has a slow release so you can closeout quickly once he picks up his dribble. It's not "rejecting the switch" if Adams allows plenty of space for Gordon to go around him.
Also yes it is, because the switch isn't about 'we have to switch because it's a hard, tight screen, it's about switching everything, no? Why does it matter if Gordon CAN go around him, if they want to switch? They switch on handoffs on the wing where OKC is just getting into their sets and aren't even doing anything
We were talking about pullup 3's and YOLO knew that, that's why he pulled out Schroder taking 'a career high 5' 3 point shots a game. He didn't read that I wasn't talking about his overall 3 pointers, just pullups
Houston switches often without the offense 'dictating it', cuts on the perimeter where no screen is even set, just players overlapping. And, please, just read above. I said they don't switch *absolutely everything*. A point conceded by YOLO and seemingly yourself.
what, are you this guy's burner account? Why did Yolo refer to his '5 attempts a game' if he wasn't aware we were talking about 3 point shots.
i have no idea who dude is. You're just getting checked and getting upset. you stubbornness isn't doing you any favors right now
Incorrect. The Rockets defenders don't switch unless opposing offenses dictate it. Players overlapping? That's the offense dictating it. And yes, the Rockets don't switch absolutely everything. But what percentage would you estimate they do switch? 95%? More? If your argument relies on outliers to be accurate, then it's a meaningless argument.
I couldn't stop thinking putting BMac in there, at least he had fresh legs for both D and 3P shooting. Tucker had to do too much. I don't think it's that they figured us out. If that's the case, no matter what we do end game, we were hopeless. I don't agree with that. IRRC, they took Adams out and park Gallo at the 3P to open up the lane in the 4th. SGA and Shoreder just took turns driving to the rim and finish. Whenver we could force them to lauch a little away from the rim, their accuracy is pretty bad. So there to me, we were not quick enough to close off the paint, directly attributing to our tired legs. So putting in fresh legs in there would help. BMac's D was suprisingly concious to me. Even if SGA/Shoreder were still able to drive, which wouldn't be worse actually, we could have used Bmac's shooting on the other side. I know he didn't shoot particularly well earlier in the game, but he didn't take many shots either. This sort of in game changes you would see from many other coaches, quick to spot the issues and find a solution. Heck, I would even put in guys like Carrol or Luc for a few minutes to see how it played out. Coach is too stubbon.
So a player overlapping one another on the perimeter is dictating it, but a guy setting three screens in a row for the ballhandler isn't? Anyway, a moot point because you agree the Rockets don't switch everything. And my argument was they don't switch *absoluletly everything*. The outliers are my entire point.
yeah they switch everything. and I'm still saying it because it's relevant to the rockets defensive scheme. You haven't proved anything. Your tweet didn't do anything but prove that you lack understanding of what fully goes on in possessions I broke down each of the 4 plays and this was you're response. "I knew you would come back with some BS". How about going through each of the breakdowns of the play and discrediting it. You can't because I actually broke down what's happening. don't know if you're attempt to be active on twitter, falsely gave you some big head but you should probably relax and be open to being corrected
I don't have to discredit it, because I didn't ask why they switch or why not. I asked do the Rockets switch absolutely everything yes or no
