Trump seems to be running as though he is the challenger but he's the incumbent all of the "chaos and anarchy" are happening under his watch.

The fear he and his supporters keep on talking about is based off of things that are happening now while he is President.

Further the inevitable counter argument is that these things are happening under Democratic Mayors and Governors. That is essentially admitting that the President doesn't have much power to do anything. At that point then the argument that these will be worse under Biden is meaningless since they are admitting that a President doesn't have much to do with it. What's worse though is they are admitting then that Trump is really weak contrary to the argument that he is powerful.

That's kinda the cat calling the kettle.... Biden had to drop out of one of his failed presidency runs because he caught lying. That actually happened. They both lie, so let's don't act like they don't.

IMO, this is the most interesting and important presidential race in my lifetime. Both sides feel that way. I think the only thing that will change peoples minds to vote differently are........aliens

There is no comparison. Show me 20,000 lies from Biden and then we can talk about this.

If ever Biden had a campaign ruined because he was caught lying would be purely due to a result of having significanltly higher standards for Biden than Trump.

Trump would never have a campaign derailed by lying because his supporters will never hold him accountable.

His voters have just accepted that excessive lying comes with Trump. But make no mistake, they won't drop those standards for rival politicians.

The looters the looters the looters are robbing us blind. Sure, looters are criminals, and deserve to be locked up. But.......the big loot money we taxpayers are funding are the millions from Trump family grifts. How many felons go down before the ring leader gets put away? That's the real question.

How many more thousands will die of Covid before the mad scientist stops screaming to play football and open schools and colleges? What will it take for him to quit calling his response a success? He's encouraging Maskless followers to rally up by the millions. The biker rally is a perfect example. The hundreds already parting at colleges is another example. They all think it's a hoax. They just don't care. You don't see Trump screaming and ranting about them though do you?

I always hear this..... "the mess in democratic cities"...... yet these same cities are the most in demand cities in the USA to live in.

NYC, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco etc.

Have you been to any of these cities where these "messes" are happening? Who is the President WHILE these "messes" are happening?

Meanwhile, Joe Biden intends to ride it out in his basement:

In interview, Biden says he will stick to his stay-at-home strategy

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Amid the coronavirus pandemic, Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden said in an interview that aired on Sunday that he had no plans to begin a more aggressive campaign schedule with little more than two months to go before the Nov. 3 election.

Asked if he could win a presidential election from his Delaware home, Biden answered: “We will.” Biden and his running mate, Senator Kamala Harris of California, gave their first interview together to ABC News. “We’re going to follow the science, what the scientists tell us,” Biden said.

Biden, 77, who leads Republican President Donald Trump in opinion polls, has restricted his campaign travel and avoided crowds since the start of the COVID-19 outbreak, culminating in last week’s virtual Democratic convention, in which Biden accepted his party’s presidential nomination from an empty hotel ballroom in Delaware.

By contrast, Trump, 74, has mounted an increasingly aggressive travel schedule, traveling last week to the battleground states of Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. On Monday, Trump will accept the Republican nomination in person in Charlotte, North Carolina, at his party’s convention.

It is a decent strategy. He is kicking butt in the polls. Let him marinate.

In general, my view is people wants to enter politics to do good, not to do anything bad, or only for personal gain. I do not like it that that's not the general view (at least I perceive it that way) from Americans... that politicians are bad bad to the core. But, yes, power do tend to corrupt (we have thousands of years of history to back this up) and so it's very important to have system and processes (i'm a big fan of process) in place to taper that down - prevent corruption as much as possible. Yet, it would be nice if, unless and until it's pretty obvious, any person is given the chance to do what they believe is good, and there is less of you are just bad, you are just evil... way too much of that today.

I don't know Trump's initial or later intention, but I do know his speech and actions and he's corrupt as hell IMO. Was he always that way or grew to be like that with power? I think he has always been about himself, his immediate families and doesn't care for or have respect for others, for laws or anything that gets in his way. His dishonest dealings, not paying contractors, frauds and cheats through his foundation and businesses were all there prior to 2016. I think the corruption that I see now as President is a by-product of his style. Reading part of his niece book help me understand Trump the person, the dysfunction of his parent family and his behaviors in the past and today. He's somewhat a victim of his circumstances. I know you probably don't agree. Whatever it is, intentional or as a victim, it does matter that he's that way now causing the republic to be in danger. That's my honest strong view.

FWIW, Trump considered running for President way back, in 1987, and he did attempt to run in 2000 as part of the reform party.

ps. after the 2016 election, I also hoped he would be a good president for America and succeed.

Yes Biden in 1988 was caught plagiarizing a British politician but he did admit what he did. Trump has never admitted or taken responsibility. In fact he said he takes no responsibility.

So was Hillary at this stage in 2016. But, I agree. Hiding is the best option for Joe.

Everyone knew the numbers would be a lot higher. First, you have all the Trumpers that will watch anything he does, and second people are tuning in to see the **** show..... and I have to tell you, day 1 was far far crazier than I ever expected. It was hilarious, like a crappy version of WWE Smackdown.

I am very curious to see what freak show oddity emerges from the shadows today.

People overseas were either quite amused or shocked and scared.
