    It is still early, but the ratings are starting to trickle in. The RNC livestream numbers on CSPAN for night #1 were nearly six times what they were for the DNC on night #1:

    First night of GOP convention delivers nearly six times more views than start of Democrats' event on C-SPAN livestream

    C-SPAN's livestream of the first night of the Republican National Convention has attracted nearly 440,000 views, marking a substantial increase over the start of the Democratic National Convention, which drew 76,000 views.

    The numbers for Monday night come ahead of traditional TV ratings from Nielsen Media Research, which will be released on Tuesday afternoon. According to Nielsen, 18.7 million people tuned in to the first night of the virtual Democratic convention from Milwaukee and Wilmington, Del., on Aug. 17, which featured speeches from former first lady Michelle Obama and former Ohio Gov. John Kasich (R).​

    Correct, and I though of that, but the poor Spanish only speakers (if that parent was) are living lives closer to Mexico than America, except for perhaps the poorest of the colonias along the US border.

    In general the DP tactic of trying not to piss off the elite donor class but emphasizing primarily identity is risky. Having movie stars, and billionaires like Bloomberg and ex Republicans might be risky, too.

    Aside from attacking Trump's four years of pathological crazy lying and his complete **** up on Covid and Biden being more popular as a personality than Hillary the DP strategy is pretty identical to the losing campaign of 2016, so I am worried as the polls tighten.

    Honestly if you sincerely worried about riots and looting, Trump isn't going to help. Asking Trump to solve this would be like dousing a chemical fire with water. All he does is divide, inflame and antogonze. He doesn't acknowledge any of the complaints by movements such as BLM and labels them all as terrorists.

    If you have any understanding of history, those method of being entrenched and not giving an inch to the cries of people's struggles only results in two options : complete genocide of the group calling for help or the group pushes back to the point where full on violent revolution happens. Show me an example of a leader ignoring the cries of a underprivileged group and only using the "law and order" shtick where the end result was peaceful. Please do show me an example.

    You want to end sporadic riots? Understand root causes and acknowledge the distress these communties are feeling.

    I bet my left nut a Biden adminstration would result in less riots because Biden will actually attempt to listen to these people.

    Sadly as bad as that convention was and all the lols I got out of it, I just think this country is full of dumb people. I'm not certain their strategy fails.

    I agree with you. I also think that the more viewership for the RNC is important, and I hope the Democrats are not underestimating these numbers.
