Well when you continuously feel the need keep talking to me, I’ll say something since you don’t get the point. You still won’t shut up with this apparent crush on me. Still no game 2 wager? Ok cool scary ass. Still at square one and you just rambling. But keep that same energy. I’ll do exactly what you’re doing
Yeah this a forum where people make posts and respond to posts... This thread is about the Rockets vs Thunder series.... I guess I have to spell it out for you. I responded to your "points" and made arguments on the topic... You're the one ranting incoherently and not responding to anything of relevance.
It seemed you generally lean pessimistic on the Rockets chances maybe more than you should... That was TMac era man, but I get it... I don't mind people making takes that they that think the Rockets are gonna lose, but to me it's what are the actual arguments... Is it accurate or consistent... And do you have arguments for how the Rockets can also win, their advantages, etc... Your response here shows me at least you care more about the Rockets winning than being right... So respect... I picked HOU in 6, but I'd love 2-0 and of course I'd love a sweep.
I mean I’m definitely a pessimist in general. My argument was not complicated. I’ve seen how often teams just force Harden to give up the ball soon as he reaches half court for almost the whole game. I figured a team like OKC would implement that strategy, and I don’t feel great about our chances when it means we have to rely on the rest of the team to make the right plays and shoot well; especially with Russ out. I figured Ben Mac wouldn’t perform well because he’s never been in this situation, nor has he ever been an important player for a team; figured Jeff Green hasn’t been doing anything for any other team the past 10 years so no different here, figured RoCo isn’t ever going to shoot well (I hope I’m also wrong on this), figured House could disappoint in the playoffs again, and figured EG and PJ are regressing. Haha, yes pessimist to say the least and everything I figured has so far been wrong thank god! (except Roco) To be honest I didn’t see OKC do too much of what I thought they would with defending Harden, I’m curious if they’re going to come out with a much more aggressive trap, or will they not dare after how bad his teammates burned them first game.
I knew and it was known before the series that Donovan hates to double like that and I didn't think he would out the gate, but I think he may do it more as the series goes forward though... I wasn't worried about Ben Mac because he's really in there for one thing and he's been doing that thing in the bubble well and well for most of the year since 2020 began. Green has been a nice addition, but nothing he's done has been surprising except for the few drives/finishes he had from the 3pt line.. particularly that one behind the back dribble one when the game was well in hand was a surprise for sure... I do think the fact that we feature him on the roll and make the game very simple for him with what he's asked to do being well within his wheelhouse is why he's been so effective. I think it's just a matter of time before RoCo regresses to the mean and starts burying treys, but his defense was the big reason why I wasn't concerned because I knew CP3 was gonna have to deal with him getting switched on him and his length and quickness is a tougher matchup than any potential big... I'm looking for a game where he forces a lot of turnovers coming as well.... Coming into this series I kept mentioning how I felt people were too focused on the negatives offensively and underestimating how good our halfcourt defense is and that we'd be able to force OKC out of their game more than they could do to us. House played decent and had some nice finishes, but I honestly don't think we need him to play big for us in this series... he just needs to keep the mistakes low and he did that(his game wasn't anything surprising) EGo and PJ especially have earned my belief in their playoff ability because they've shown it every year they've been here and the young guys on OKC have proven nothing and so I don't trust they're ready for the moment... SGA looked lost on many possessions and it wasn't surprising... He had Mac on him a few times and passed it out or settled when that's a perfect matchup for him to attack, but that also is a lack of experience coming into play. I picked Rockets in 6 because I believe their will be a game where they'll explicitly take that gamble to make the other guys beat them and they have a subpar shooting night... That could potentially be a loss unless Harden is able to get off ball and get it back with EGo or Green handling the ball effectively with him getting the ball secondarily on certain plays. Also I think there could be a game where Adams is able to be impactful enough on the floor at getting them much more second chance pts... then CP, Gallo, and one of SGA or Schroeder gets hot and we lose.... I think the former is more likely to happen a couple times and that latter one less likely because Adams is their only legit offensive rebounder that will be out there and they're not good at it as a team.
Good news for the Thunder... The next two are @Home for them.... They get to play in front of their virtual crowd.
If I told you that Harden and Gordon would shoot 2 for 21 from three and that the Thunder would out-rebound the Rockets and have a higher FG%, 3P% and FT% for the game, would you ever image that the Rockets won the game by 13? This is some crazy stuff that's going on. The Rockets are able to post double digit wins against playoff teams using the small ball lineup, even when they play a below average offensive game because of the combination of the 3 pointer math advantage and their ability on defense to win the turnover battle by a significant margin. They did the same thing against Milwaukee week before last. This is some exciting stuff.
Used to be Rockets needed to win all 3 of 3P, FT and TOV battles but this Rockets defense is ELITE at turning over the ball.
interesting @Air Canada Big ass mouth after game 1. more mouthing after game 2. Nothing after game 3? Nothing after today? This sure aged well. you let the series play out instead of acting like a know it all after not even finishing a actual series. remember that reality check that was coming.
Yeah it took a heavy blatant officiating bias to get the Thunder back into the series... Congrats on me reading you like a book... As predicted. ^
Loser mentality to think it’s the officials. typical. So here we are. Those 3 guards yeah they’re doing what they’ve done all season long. Tied up series. I still see it as a 7 game series. Hopefully the rockets pull it off. We’ll see by this weekend
@D-rock eating his **** sandwich in peace , about to blast us with another piece of why he’s a good fan because he’s a la la idiot. Embarrassing. This is why some of us criticize the team, we just want what’s best for the rockets
Officiating isn't the sole reason, but it's literally been carrying the Thunder to keep these games close.... Look at the FT disparity in the last 2 games.... Remember we're #2 in the league at drawing fouls and average 26FTA per game... Look at the dubious calls and what's being called a foul one way and not the other way. In game 3: In game 4... OKC had 28 FTA to 10 FTA for HOU... I can easily show 3 or 4 more fouls on Harden and Gordon that went uncalled.... ^ And the same move that Luka and Tatum adopted... The move Harden has literally done hundreds of times in games to a T and is 100% not a travel gets called one for the first time all season in a playoff game and wipes away a 3pt shot... Yes we could've still won these games, but it's clear the refs are calling the games in favor of OKC.
hard to go to the line when you're constantly driving and kicking so did that travel call impact the 15 pt lead the rockets had coming out after halftime did the refs cause the turnovers, bad passes, undisciplined closing of games, missing the last 14 of the 17 open shots did the refs tell house to go into the paint and sag off SGA to take the lead
You know we drive and kick constantly practically all year and almost lead the league in FTA right? You know we drove way more than OKC in game 3 and got many no calls and less FTs. How did they get the ball which led to that SGA 3? Dennis fouled Gordon which caused him to fall on the inbound as I highlighted in that video and the 2min report later confirmed. Did you actually read what I posted? I literally didn't say that and it fundamentally doesn't address the point...
Harden is the sole culprit of the rockets drive and kicks and free throws. He deferred a ton yesterday when he should have been aggressive at the basket. Especially throwing it out to EG in the 4th. And while a lot of people won’t admit it, Dort has done one of the better defensive jobs I’ve seen for a player on harden.
