So far, EG has done enough. He's made up for his missing 3pt shot by giving us some hard, determined drives to the rim, and by playing smart, tough defense. In two games, here are the numbers: 32.5 minutes 18 pts 4 rbs 4 asts FG%: .524 (11 of 21) 3PT%: .125 (2 of 16) TS%: .435 Even when Russ comes back, that .125% from 3 isn't going to cut it. We're going to need him to catch fire at some point or it'll be really tough to win a title. What scares me is that this season, he's only made more 3s than he missed in 6 out of 36 games. 16 times he's taken at least 9 3s this season and in only one of those games did he hit even half of them. Whether his issue is physical or mental, he's just NOT having hot streaks.
And he can get to basket at will. But agree with @topfive , EGo has to be more efficient from 3 if he is going to play starters minutes which is a little different from being a "starter". If he starts but only plays 20 mins, then his lack of efficiency from 3 is not as impactful.
The EG slander on Clutchfans was too high. Real fans knew EG brings it in the playoffs. (needs to bring his shot though)
All star talent.... Fockassed and healthy. The shot will come. Better when he can play his role, but without Russ... Gotta expand..and JUST DO IT! #golinebackers
If anyone thinks EGo (or Harden) are struggling from 3, then take a look at what struggling from 3 really looks like.
I do not think it is high. It was just one Overtime but still a bad Overtime. The 0-10 from 3 in Game 2 wasn't convincing either. I think people have figured him out a bit, not that his game is really hard to fathom.
Yeah, I doubt he led Toronto in 3 pt efficiency either, his game is the midrange. If he shoots 20% from midrange then he got a problem.
With Russ out today, EG's moment of truth is still hovering around, still in play. At some point, he's going to have to string together 3 or 4 consecutive 3s.
