Yes the biggest wild card and probably the biggest headache for the RNC will be trying to keep Trump on message. I saw something saying that Trump wants to speak every night at 10Pm. If I was one of the organizers I would do try to limit him from speaking.
You better wake up and smell the coffee. Still living in the past. Wake up. We've had almost 8,000 Texans die since July 18th. We've had almost 1,500 die in Harris County alone in barely over a month. To try and diminish the severity of the situation just shows how little you care about people.
I caught some of the Sunday shows for a bit this morning and it’s obvious the media is really making an effort to tighten up this race. It’s just blatantly obvious. I’ve lost all respect for Fareed Zakaria. I understand the corporate producers have a heavy hand on the stagecraft of the interviews but his pathetic attempt at an interview with Kushner might as well have been an ad buy for the Trump campaign.
I doubt Antifa will just disappear under a Biden Presidency. There are many other issues that Antifa pushes that aren't directly related to Trump. Also has been noted many times Antifa isn't a unified organization with a command structure. More of a brand. Yes, I'm also pretty sure an LEO will kill an unarmed black man under unjustified circumstances under a Biden Presidency and there will probably be protests that end up not being peaceful. Ferguson and Baltimore happened while Obama was president. What I expect will be different is that the response won't be "It's all the fault of mayors and governors" and that a Biden Presidency will work with local leaders to address them rather than insult them and or send in Federal authorities without the agreement of local authorities. A President also likely won't be talking about protecting suburban housewives from urban chaos. A Biden presidency I think will be an improvement and like you said won't fuel the fire but I don't know how big of a change. Many of these problems are deep and no single President can change them.
It is in the media interest to have a tighter race just like it's in the NBA, ESPN and TNT to have 7 game series. I'm watching the Meet the Press and I'm not getting the impression that they are trying to tighten up the race. They had Jason Miller on but Chuck Todd didn't just let him just pump up the RNC.
Let me clarify on Anitfa. Yes, they won’t disappear, but they will go back under the radar, like they did prior to Trump. Biden isn’t going to push them or bring any attention to them. The white nationalist is, however, a wild card - will they go back underground or will they rise up even more. With trump out of the way, Antifa is only going to be responsive to white nationalists - so it does depend on that wild card. If antifa and white nationalist crash continue to be a problem, then yea, Biden relationship with the states would be more helpful - I think it probaly won’t even get to that. As for racial injustice, that would not get resolved under Biden. It has a good chance of improving and might even have some real break through, but the root of this issue is more cultural in society and police dept. That cultural issue won’t be resolved within people in a generation - it will take new laws and processes (funding, accountability) for fair treatment of all and then time for culture to catch up. Breakthrough though is possible because I think there is serious pent up demand for changes. I dare even said it might be as sudden as marriage equality.
Your expectation was that zero Texans would die from Covid? Facts over feelings, Deb. I don't want anybody to die, but covid has taken lives everywhere.
He's probably some sort of reptilian. If you seriously think him and lester holt are human you are beyond help
I read a Tweet this morning but I can't seem to be able google back and find it, but it said that if just 4% of Trump voters switch there will be an election runaway. Do you think 4% of 2016 Trump voters will switch, I do.
I didn't expect to be saying we had 8,000 monthly deaths is August back in March. So no. I also didn't expect our President to rally the Maskless MAGA and GOP in April, May, and June and defy science while making fun of Biden in a mask. I also didn't expect our Governor to open us up before meeting guidelines. I didn't expect people to just deal with it or grow numb to it either. What I did think was opening so early would backfire. What I did expect was that more people would take this more seriously. What I do see is that restaurants, bars, and churches have had Coronavirus clusters. What I do expect, is for schools not to have funding taken away if they go strictly online out of caution. What I do see happening is numbers going up around the country when millions of schools reopen, whether they feel safe doing it or not. There will be people hurt, and people will die. What I do expect is that laws prevent allowing 20,000 to 50,000 fans in stadiums for sports during a pandemic, especially here in Texas. We've seen how these college kids are partying in mass already. Can you imagine tailgate parties and thousands....cough cough...so called doing it safely? Anyway, the list goes on. What I do know is that you will never care enough, as long as you can say we did better than New York. Guess what? The deaths and suffering those families go through hurts just as much here as it does there.
They should just delete his account from Twitter. The President shouldn't be allowed to spread lies that deceive American people.
