Harden is sometimes so frustrating in late game situations

dort fouled harden earlier in a game on a harden drive that went out of bounds, doris of course was screaming good defense lol

 

I would rather watch Russ running into people than Harden holding the ball and pass it out in the last second.

 

Harden doesn't try to run and get free to get the ball on inbound plays in closing moments of games. He's supposed to be our Kobe making tough last second shots but he can't even get a look. Let's not pretend opposing defenses didn't try to deny guys like MJ and Kobe the ball on inbound plays in late game situations. They did and those two guys moved their feet to get open.

Ya he's one of the few guys who matches Harden's foot speed and strength. That's the combo you need to make it hard for Harden. Other wise hell either go but you or power over you. Kid is a disciplined defender. If he develops a jumper he'll have a long career.

harden is THE only guard to have a 29 PER for 3 straight seasons since jordan and he is somehow not seen as a top 5 player. He is top 3. Its like saying mike trout isnt a top 5 player in baseball because he doesnt get to the playoffs. At least the mlb gives trout his mvp awards lol. It's kinda tricky in how you'd suggest harden to play d with 5 fouls. Especially against cp3 who will do anything he can to bait the foul. He often doesn't get it but it's still a risk harden has to take into consideration.

Initially on that SGA 3 I thought harden should've played back a little more and force cp3 into a contested jumper ... but thinking back now, it wasn't a bad play by harden, to ensure that he doesn't pick up a foul and he had jeff green there (rightly helping off dort) to contest a left handed layup to tie the game. But we all know it was house's mistake to leave SGA.

There were of course 2 drives in this game that he just absolutely let cp3 go for free ... but I also think jeff green should've showed a bit harder on cp3's drive and force him to make a pass to adam's underneath the basket as gordon was there to try to disrupt it (as he had done earlier in the game).

 

I swear he’s been doing that for years. Head scratcher. Instead of running to get open he gets into a weird entanglement with the defender, like he’s trying to get the ref to make a call. You can’t rely on the ref in late game situations.

 

why everybody giving dort props. I check the boxscore.. hardens statline doesnt match up with the dort praise. Yea he had a good block on james after harden got hurt, but harden toasted this dude.. damn near 40 point triple double with 1 turnover

while eric gordon wth a terrible -29 BPM
house and covington both with -15 BPM

we lost inspite of harden not because of...

 

Can't remember the last time I agreed with fchowd doing his routine but you can't argue with this one. It's just a fact, it's bit this team in the ass so many times before. He won't even try to get open, or if he does, it's by blatantly pushing off and praying he doesn't get called for it.
