Sure, also the match up. If he is matched up against a premium forward having to defend him, he may look different. Say Kuzma. But we are not relying on him. He is highlighted in these two games because he played really well and was instrumental in the victories. But good thing is that we have a group of role players that can step up on any given night.
I don't think Kuzma is a quality forward especially defensively but I get you. He will seldom be up against a wing it will be mostly bigs. He has been in his bag through the 1st 2 games but I wonder when the pressure increases will we see more turnovers and misses. I never knew he such such a good finisher.
I mean Jeff Green has to check Kuz defensively. That’s probably gonna take some of his offensive energy away. So far in this series, he hasn’t had to do lot of heavy defending. By the way PJ is the unsung hero.
He’s our unicorn big who can create off the dribble shoot 3 defend. Now if he starts catching lobs - getting in sync like that with James, game over. They’ll have to respect green’s scoring from the outside.
Man, the OKC team had Durant, Westbrook, Ibaka, Green, and Harden as their top 5 scorers. All but Westbrook and Harden have gone to the finals on other teams. 3 have won MVPs. That had to be the most talented squad ever assembled with players all about the same age. The next 4 player for them were Sefolosha, Perkins, Collison, and Krstic. :O
Imagine what D'Antoni could have done with that squad. It's the perfect small ball team, except for Perk.
Considering Brooks got them to the Finals and gave Miami's big 3 a run for their money, I would say Junior Bickerstaff could have won a championship with them if they kept that team together.
JB??? Let's not go overboard now. LOL Under MDA, that group of guys would have made everyone forget the SSOL Suns AND the Hamptons 5.
If Jeff Green balls out again tonight in a victory I'll call him my Daddy! I dare somebody to dare me!
You are RIGHT! I almost forgot that Perk was plan B after trade for a young not yet DPOY Tyson Chandler trade failed. If Tyson trade would have gone thru - Green would have remained with Thunder. What a 7 man rotation: Brodie, KD, Beard, Ibaka, Tyson with Green & Thabo off bench. PnR and lob game with Tyson would have been unstoppable. Crazy.
Well MDA only plays a 8 man rotation anyway. Westbrook Harden Durant Green Ibaka Sefolosha Collison Krstic
