Just thought I'd start a thread to see who didn't get mail today or any other days of the week down the road. Just curious how bad it is in your neck of the woods. Monday we didn't get any mail service on our street. Even 2 day priority mail sent to me last week took about 4 days to arrive. I'm glad Im not one of those who rely on prescriptions by mail like a lot of people I've heard about. It hasn't been as bad here as some of the other places I've been hearing about, but days with no service are becoming more frequent.
I had a package delayed for 4 days. I tracked it, getting shuffled around Houston's distribution centers for 3 of the days. But then again, it's the same with FedEx and UPS and there's a pandemic that's adding pressure so I'm not criticizing.
I got my package two days earlier than expected. I don't get enough real regular mail to know if it's being delayed. I still get the usual crap mail in a timely manner.
I think it's just a result of lack of personnel and no overtime. If they don't finish, then they return to deliver it the next day. I blame it on the government authorities paid to run the Post Office and those who approve or disapprove funding necessary to run it properly.
I've had random days when I don't get any mail...which is strange because I usually get 2-5 pieces of junk mail daily at the very least. I am one that relies on prescriptions, but I usually keep on top of them so I'm never really close to running out. We did have an issue where the post office recently replaced my mailbox (community one), but either didn't coordinate with the HOA or didn't tell us. Since we didn't have a key, we couldn't get into it...went to the post office and they didn't have extra keys that we could use so we had to go pick up mail from them until they were able to make a key (took 2 weeks...which made no sense since you can literally go get one made in minutes). As soon as we got the key, they changed out the lock so we had to go back and get another key (took another week) before it was all cleared up. honestly, made me laugh most of the time.
USPS to from Houston 2 NC - 10 day delay recently. USPS from FLA to NC - from "lost"-to-3week delay. And this was just before the media dove balls deep into the mail saga.
The week before last I had a package sent 2-Day Priority that was to arrive on Wednesday. I didn't receive it until the following Monday. My mom told me a similar story about a prescription that took much longer than normal to arrive (she was quite worried it was lost). Nothing like paying for a service and having the President of the United States delay it.
It should be painfully obvious that the hatchet job dip$hit's political appointee has done on the USPS is responsible for the almost immediate diminution in their ability to get the mail out timely.
