JVG literally makes the games more fun to watch -- him playing around with the fan board and asking to see exotic animals was funny... then he gets stuck on seeing a goat and boom some lady grabs her pet goat.
yeah but sometimes it seems forced or faked... arab commentators seems to be more genuinely excited about the game
I value it a ton, it makes a massive difference on the vibe. It can make it much more exciting, or boring depending on who's commentating. Listening to the opponent's commentary is usually painfully awful, they will b**** and moan about our team, and take cheap shots at our players often. Listening to our own commentary is really nice, they get really excited for big plays because they are fans of the team themselves, they know a lot about what's going on, the homerism just feels great. Impartial announces are hit or miss. I like the JVG, Mike Breen, Mark Jackson crew. Doris Burke and Hubie Brown are like nails on a chalkboard.
Stan has an annoying voice, don't know how he got the job. It seems to simply if you want it, you got it, because you're a respected veteran former coach / player. That shouldn't be the case, but it is what it is. So far I only love the JVG trio on ESPN and Webber Anderson duo on TNT.
