That Billy Porter/Steven Stills performance was painful to watch. I don't know who Billy Porter is...but everything about it was just weird.

I'm a political junkie so I watch...but this is just strange over all. It's weird to hear all of these speeches from afar. Just no energy behind them with no crowd to speak of. Then them cutting to people after the speeches and the delay before they clapped made it worse. Not much they can do about it at this point. There's not going to be any new stars coming out of these without the crowds. These are just rehearsed and timed speeches as if we're sitting in a college communications class.

I likely won't pay as much attention going forward. It's nice some GOPers are speaking but what they're likely to say won't be a surprise or that much different than Kasich. I'll watch Harris' and Biden's speeches. That'll likely be it, especially with the Rockets on tonight.

There is latency but it's not enough to be a signf issue for video conference. The tech is definitely there, but the reaction... who knows.

She had plenty of time to revise. And why is she pre-recording? Not confident in her abilities without multiple takes?

I don't know what people were expecting. Once they couldn't do the convention live with a crowd it was going to be like this. It's like tuning into MLB and saying it's not as exciting with the cutouts instead of an actual crowd.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the RNC try to do something like the NBA but pumping in fake crowd noise might just appear more pathetic.

Lol Trump gained ground in the prediction markets after last night’s opening of the Democratic convention.

Something about those pics don't look right, not saying they are not legit but something seems off.

Don't see how these are just surfacing now, with that said I have no idea why Bill is speaking DNC?

    https://www.nytimes.com/2020/08/18/us/politics/bill-clinton-convention.html

    excerpt:

“It’s been 25 years since he’s been president,” said Patti Solis Doyle, a former aide to Hillary Clinton and her first campaign manager in 2008. “He ran much more as a conservative; he governed much more as a conservative. The party now has moved further left than it has ever been. I think his time as a politician has passed.”

I think it's usually customary for a former president to be invited to speak to the party if they wish to do so. Even Carter has a spot for this convention and will speak.

I doubt W will be invited to speak at the RNC...although he'd probably pass at this point. He didn't attend in 2016 either, although, I believe he was invited that time.

If Billy Boy did the crime, then he can do the time. He and Trump can talk about old times in the pen.

I understand that but he has too much baggage and that's even if you take out the Epstein stuff.

Plus who is clamoring to hear Bill Clinton speak?

So it seems the pics are real but there needs to be some context.

Davies, now in her early 40s, said of the massage pictures: 'Although the image looks bizarre, President Clinton was a perfect gentleman during the trip and I saw absolutely no foul play involving him.'
She explained the massage happened when 'we had a stop-over for the jet to refuel and while we were in the terminal the ex-President was complaining of stiffness from falling asleep in his chair.

'Ghislaine chimed in to be funny and said that I could give him a massage.

'Everyone had a little chuckle but Ghislaine in her prim British accent insisted and said I was good. The President then asked me ''would you mind giving it a crack''.

'He turned his back to me and I reached up and I started to rub out the kink in our former President's neck and shoulder.'

The massage therapist then revealed her embarrassment after innocently telling Clinton: 'I've got a bad angle, would you mind getting on your knees?'
