    unusual endorsement for the union

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/poli...election-campaign/ar-BB17YUdA?ocid=uxbndlbing

    excerpt:

NYCPBA President Patrick Lynch said he could not remember a time in 36 years when the NYCPBA had endorsed any presidential candidate "until now."

"Many times, people say that a union like ours, law enforcement groups, give endorsements," Lynch said to Trump. "Not in the New York City PBA, sir. In the New York City PBA, sir, you earn the endorsement and you've earned this endorsement. I'm proud to give it."

Expected of these PD unions. They do not want transparency and accountability, such as this:

    https://www.hrw.org/news/2020/06/10/new-york-state-passes-historic-police-transparency-bill

New York Legislature voted on Tuesday to repeal Civil Rights Law section 50-A, a 1970s law that concealed police disciplinary records from public disclosure in New York. Governor Andrew Cuomo has publicly declared he will sign the bill and Human Rights Watch urges him to do so immediately.

    https://www.silive.com/news/2020/06...inst-police-reform-laws-say-cops-at-risk.html

Law enforcement union leaders representing 200,000 officers across New York are speaking out firmly against a push by government leaders to make officers’ disciplinary records more transparent, place a stricter ban on neck restraints and shift funds away from the department.

This is gonna greatly improve how much citizens trust police officers they interact with.

Is this the same union that said there was no mistreatment of the BLM protestors?

    Sounds about white.

They don’t want ANY accountability. That’s the scary part. Of course they’re going to support him

Yeah, openly supporting a guy who bases his political life on racial division should do wonders for their community policing. Maybe they’re all just going to patrol Staten Island and skip the other boroughs.

I saw Fox made a big deal out of this. I don’t think getting the support of a police union is necessarily a good thing as a lot of people do not view the police as above reproach.

It’s probably a bad thing for the union. There will be more public pressure for reform and to push back against the union. As for the election, probably doesn’t matter, especially in NY.

That’s fine. Still a lot of people do not especially like police unions.

Just had a conversation with some NYPD officers last week. We had a nice friendly discussion about welfare and black poverty. They had some rather interesting statements regarding how black people pop out babies for welfare. Fine people. Definitely the type that would fairly police over a community of Black people.

Word on the street is that the looters are unionizing and will strongly consider endorsing Joe. The Kamala thing made them take a step back though.

Word on the street is the Klan, the alt-right, the aryan brotherhood, the proud boys, and patriots prayer are having Trump fundraisers. It’s not sarcasm though.
