At first thought why fire a coach who’s had to deal with an all new team, injuries etc. but I don’t think he’s ever been a good coach. The crazy thing is how there’s still serious interest in Kidd, by the Nets of all organisations!
always thought gentry was a good assistant type of caliber. also wat is the hype with ty lue? i thought the whole world was laughing at him in cleveland. he was a mediocre assistant coach to lerbon.
Not surprising, but Gentry was never really given much during his 5 year stay either in terms of talent. Not significant talent combined at the same time anyway. Don't know how good of a coach he is, because it's a crapshoot with the Pelicans. Hopefully he gets on somewhere else again maybe not as a head coach.

Alvin Gentry ruined one of Smoothie King International's most valuable proteges. For five months we had Zion under training. Singing lessons; acting lessons, dancing lessons. I spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on him. I was gonna make him a big star! And let me be even more frank, just to show you that I'm not a hard-hearted man, and it's not all dollars and cents. Zion was beautiful; he was young, he was innocent. He was the greatest piece of ass I ever had, and I had'em all over the world!
Dang I kind of liked Alvin. Not Alvin's fault if Zion isn't in shape. The Chicago Bulls coach or King's GM, those I get.
