Dusty Baker made it sound like Michael Brantley will play the outfield tomorrow with Yordan Alvarez at designated hitter. Brantley will work out pregame today in the outfield with Gary Pettis. Brantley will DH on Sunday and Alvarez will be off. Yordan Alvarez said he tested positive for COVID-19, which is what delayed his arrival to the Astros. Alvarez said his only symptom of the virus was a few headaches. He does not know how he contracted the virus. Dusty Baker said that both Justin Verlander and Roberto Osuna are "working out" at Methodist Hospital. Baker said he talked to Justin Verlander today and that Verlander said he feels “very good.” “He’s working exceptionally hard,” he said. Baker said Roberto Osuna is also feeling “good as well.
Alvarez contracted COVID and then disappeared for months..... okie dokie. Already giving Alvarez off days after playing a single game...... okie dokie. So how many runs have the pen given up so far today?
Here's my lineup suggestion for the future: 1) Springer 2) Altuve 3) Alvarez 4) Bregman 5) Correa 6) Brantley 7) Gurriel 8) Reddick/Tucker 9) Maldonado Alvarez should be getting more at bats at the 3rd spot. He's either getting pitches to hit or getting on base with Bregman and Correa behind him. Bregman and Correa helps deter bringing a lefty specialist for Alvarez. Opposing managers might be more app to save the lefty for the Brantley, Gurriel and Reddick/Tucker trio. We really should be stacking our highest OPS guys at the top of the lineup.
