I still go out pretty much as normal with friends. The mask thing is annoying, but otherwise I get out as much as I can.
Things are weird right now with everyone I know. Everyone I know is struggling with something or another, including myself. People have lost their jobs, people are stressed about possibly losing their jobs, parents with teenagers are struggling, people with businesses are in trouble, politics / the election, etc. Its a really strange time we are living in, and talking to people has become strange in itself When I talk and hang with friends, they say everything is ok, but you can tell they are struggling with something. Whether its family, money, or just the stress of everything going on.
Some people like me actually live with someone who pose a higher risk if infected. It's not always what we want, but what we can do to protect those we love.
You hit the nail on the head I feel like. Everyone is struggling with something. My group of friends haven't really gotten together much at all during the pandemic. It's pretty isolating. People have their reasons in my circles, but it's still isolating at times. I never considering myself a crazy social person, but I do miss the periodic get togethers we did have. Now I'm lucky if I get anyone to do a Zoom get together or something for a virtual game night. You've now made me sad. Thank you, lol.
Why should I stay in? Nothing I'm doing is wrong and we are supporting businesses that are VERY grateful to have us. We all have those stupid masks and wear them where required. I follow the Marquis II on FB and I know the owner. He posts updates every day and is on the verge of tears as he put his life savings into the place and TABC won't let him open with all of this with NO end date. It is just sad to watch and cruel of Abbott to shut down just one type of business. This isn't a zero sum game. Everyone needs to get out more. But if you're scared of this you have every right to stay home.
