as I was typing that , blum and kalas were singing his praises. Apparently he is a top prospect ? stuff does look good , especially the hook
Get used to him, unfortunately. Same with Frankie Montas, if he can stay off (or on?) the PEDs. Luzardo's a top arm. Had TJ a couple of years ago when he was with the Nats. Came over to Oakland in the Doolittle/Treinen(?) trade, and got called up last Sept.
Another breaking ball swing and a miss... Altuve just go home. You didn't come into this season prepared.
Only 4 or 5 guys on the whole team look prepared. Of course, lots of guys all over are unprepared. Still, Astros not too entertaining for Houston fans so far. I am starting to root for the season being cancelled.
Threw 3 balls a foot outside...Carlos swings at and misses all of them. Good times. This is better than *not* watching baseball...right?
All things considered, our inexperienced bullpen has exceeded expectations vastly for the situation they are in. Maybe no fans really does help. We might have found 5 arms this season that we can develop. Alternatively, we will see how they perform once more of a book is developed against them.
Yep. Can't blame too much on the rookie bullpen either. It's incredibly interesting to me how other teams will sit on pitches right over the plate and proceed to knock the **** out of them, while our hitters are content to Ensberg the **** out of them, even with runners on, even with 2 strikes, even in score-or-lose situations.
Straw is just a one-trick pony. Speed/stolen bases. And that's it. Was hoping he could at least develop as a contact hitter, showed some signs of it. Also wanted him to be a good defender. Not that either.
Do we not have any other outfielders that can step in and move straw back to the bench for running purposes only.
