it’s certainly not a favorite, but I stumbled across this on TV on a late night many years ago and still haven’t forgotten this pure fckery
Tetsuo the iron man, The Brood, and Basket Case are pretty weird. As for what I consider to be true WTF movies. A whole lot of Eastern European flicks from the Soviet era where the filmmakers are angry, depressed, or both. It's all allegory and symbolism for obvious reasons. The animation from then is even more out there.
I'm assuming you either have to think or say WTF when you are watching it. The movie that comes to mind is "Knowing" starring Nicolas Cage. Another one is "Next". Come to think of it, all my favorite WTF movies star Nicolas Cage. WTF?
So it's not a movie, its a series on HBO... Doom Patrol. At first I wasn't totally into it, but it gets crazier as the series progresses and its hilariously WTF almost every episode. Mix in some good acting by a great cast, and some genuine heartfelt moments (bookended by WTF)...it progressively became one of my favorite recent shows. Sorry not a movie.
A Clock Work Orange was my very first WTF movie, every once in awhile it comes on late night on Showtime or something and I still go WTF did I just see
I have had a friend tell me in detail what Serbian Film is about. I love the movies this thread is about generally. But I would just read a detailed plot synopsis on Serbian Film and skip it. Not interested in seeing crap like that at all.
I have to see it to believe it but I have been wanting to watch it forever so maybe my heart is not in it.
Well if incest, necrophilia, and rape sounds intriguing. And I believe a combo of the first with second or third also. Maybe I’m just getting softer as I get older. But yuck lol
If I had to rank movies it is top 20 for me. I forgot to add pedophilia aka “literal baby fu*king” apparently in that movie. Not comparable to Oldboy.
