AOC wants Army to stop recruiting Twitch video gamers

Based on the article the issue has to do with how the army is suppressing criticism on twitch and how it is putting up fake giveaways to get attention.

 

It's legally dubious based on laws governing sweepstakes.

Regardless, I don't think a government entity should be engaged in censorship, fake giveaways, and manipulating view counts.

Like I said, I don't think the issue was with the Army having a presence on Twitch, it's actually smart to recruit gamers like you said. The Army pulled it's own page down and stopped streaming on its own. The issue was HOW it was recruiting - the tactics it was using to recruit which were in one case unconstitutional (a government organization can not delete comments on a public page) and illegal (promoting free giveaways but taking users who signed up to a garbage webpage).

As for AOC, I don't know what is in the measure or the rationale, but it seems highly unlikely that she would have any success here.

 

Maybe they don't want to go get killed or maimed fighting Trump's (or Biden's or whoever else's) war.

 

AOC would rather have her constituents sit in their parents basement playing pokemon go for the rest of their lives...than take an actual risk that might be meaningful in their life. The epitome of the modern day ultra left.

No, I dont think she has a diabolical plan, similar to what others belief Trump has.

But there is some element that hits home closer than it should. Its not like some kid on Twitch who has a promising future in college is going to get suckered into the military. Will it happen, sure? But the sad reality is too many of these kids on Twitch have a better future going through the military than they do getting caught up in student debt with no degree. Or in gangs or other bad situations.

There was a time when the Democrat party served this role.

 

Those kids are future drone overlords.
