Back in January I was thinking about a trip to Ireland and Scotland for the summer. It's going to be a long time before that happens.

I definitely believe her heart and mind were in the right place, but I do think she also acted too quickly when cases were not surging in crazy numbers in Harris County at the time. Regardless, I don't knock this against her, it was anybody's guess what the **** was really going to happen, so I commend her for taking action even though it did cost a **** load of money.

Republicans can pretend they knew better, but they were lucky to guess right.

Hello folks! I'm still here! I'm still wearing my mask and social distancing.

In good news, it appears that cases per day may have even already peaked in Texas, and deaths likely could peak this week or next.

The numbers in Texas are FAR better than states like NY and New Jersey. Texas' deaths per day appear to be capping out in the mid 100s, whereas NY was hitting 1,000 per day for nearly an entire week! Abbott with the mega win over Cuomo!

The secret - protect the vulnerable. Cuomo failed at protecting the vulnerable - he sent positive Covid patients into nursing homes!

U.S. Sen. Rick Scott wants schools open, but he said his grandchildren won’t be in them.

"“My daughters are going to be more focused on distance learning right now to make sure their children are safe,” Scott told Varney. “Other parents are going to want to make sure their kids are in the classroom.”

If you don't want your loved ones in schools. . . . why herd others into them?

I had to cancel my trip there in March, yet its far safer there than here right now. It's so depressing. I miss chilling out in that beautiful country, away from the concrete jungle.

You need to quit harping on Cuomo and realize Abbott learned absolutely nothing about that situation. Nothing to brag about here, where we don't have the massive subway and train networks, nor as many tourists. Day late and dollar short approach. Keep changing the story, keep acting like easing restrictions, schools forcing teachers and staff to put themselves at risk, and it's all just going to not make things worse.

Your deaths are way down story evolves with time, kinda like Trump and his puppets. Your words are garbage at this point, as are theirs. Always a step behind the curve.

It's crazy how much has changed in 20 days. Just live with it isn't the advice people need to hear nor should all the sick and dying be discounted at all. It's pathetic that we did so little so late, and so many paid the price for blatant negligence.

    20 days later......deaths have tripled.

Deb that chart isn't very insightful because it lacks context. Put it up next to New York, New Jersey, Connecticut or Massachusetts' numbers. Then you'd be singing Abbott's praises for a job well done!

Canada, who has received all kinds of praise, has 35% more deaths per capita than Texas! Perspective, folks...

When looked at using some relevant perspective, Texas looks pretty good.

    lol

    You’re lost.

the scale of the graph matters. Hint: the scale is about one tenth of the same graph from NY!

You are delusional. Abbott is an idiot. He has let Texas get out of control. He is to blame.

I realized he is not really about having an actual discussion in good faith comparing new york and texas. There are multiple points I brought up that he pretends not to see. On top of things mentioned, New york also has three major airports(two international) within a 50 mile radius of each other. No other state has any business being even close to having the same infection rate as new york except maybe for the states bordering it but here we are...

its unbelievable how so many states have no sense of urgency as test rates surge even tho this is the time we are suppose to be preparing infrastructure for the upcoming cold months as the virus supposedly dies down in the summer. This winter is going to be something else....
