    You would think in nearly four years of "governing" he would have picked up a few clues on how things work.

    Reading Bolton, Wolf, Woodward, Mary Trump, and any other book about him, we know his utter incompetence is real.

    I don't think Trump cares whether this is illegal or not. This is political move like many of his moves he, or at least people in his administration, know can't be implemented but rallies his base.

    It's not that easy to shrug off when he repeats it again and again until he gets some kind of wiggle room.

    This also goes against "moderate" handwringing when they use “we need to have generous, but reasonable limits on our immigration system” to support Trump's immigration policies.

    Trump's immigration stances are racist and xenophobic, and if those groups are silent about this issue, it's no wonder they're ignored when the far leaning liberals tilt all the way to the other end.

    At some point you would home the chief justice of the supreme court would make a statement about all these ridiculous and unconstitutional EOs that trump is floating out there with the sole intent to boost his numbers with his base...

    From what we've been seeing, the Trump Republicans hate the constitution. Why not just run a platform of "**** the Constitution"? Trump made more money than all those people that helped establish the constitution COMBINED. He knows BETTER. He LOVES America more than ANYBODY.

    Sorry. I'm just mad he's about to be on TV talking about a virus he knows nothing about. And I'll be watching it. Agana. Sigh.

    I agree but consider there are still people saying "Mexico will pay for the wall," his supporters seem to be able to accept a lot of what he says even though it's patently untrue and was never realistically going to happen.

    I don't know what numbers Trump and his campaign managers are seeing but I get the feeling they believe that the best route for winning is to ramp up enthusiasm among their base while trying to depress the turnout of the opposition. My guess is that they are running another narrowcast rather than a broadband race.

    I think that is the plan but who gets enthusiastic about this?

    It does not seem very strategic just throwing things against the wall, these things will increase enthusiasm for more anti Trump than for Trump IMO.
