As others and I have asked before, if any officer wears no badge and have no ID, what is to stop random people to dress in camo to impersonate them? if such an “officer” tries to grab a citizen off the street, how does a citizen tell the difference between law enforcement and random kidnapper? Would a citizen be justified to shoot them to defend themselves?
Open carry and if someone tries to snatch you up without providing ID shoot first and ask questions later. I guarantee those ****ers would think twice if they started getting shot.
Yeah if that happened to me I'd freak the **** out thinking I was being kidnaped, I'd fight it until they'd probably kill me for resisting an arrest I wasn't aware was taking place. There are zero excuses for how this was executed. If you get boners when daddy Trump gets authoritarian, that's fine (not really), but they need to be in marked cars, with marked clothing, they need to address themselves as law enforcement, and they need to verbally explain why you are being arrested. If you excuse or support this type of behavior then get f*cked.
Really? The guy in the video was not brutalised. Draw a gun and you might end up with a lead snack. Is this what defunding the police looks like? Portland's answer to lawlessness.
The solution would start with law enforcement actually wearing badges and carrying ID instead of dressing up like Proud Boys at Charlottesville.
Agree, but again, what was the individual doing to warrant being detained? Ever hear of citizens arrest? They don't wear insignia either.
Seems like a credible self-defense argument if someone found themselves in court for assaulting an officer or resisting arrest. Those generally require the citizen to be an eyewitness to a felony and that there is no other reasonable recourse. The little bs stuff they arrest protesters for, like graffiti or trespassing, are not felonies and are besides addressable by real police without some citizen executing a citizen's arrest. So, not relevant.
People are not being detained for regular daily business. Relevant. Portland defunded their police force by $15m. We reap what we sow.
of course the resident trump suck-ups look for a way to justify and excuse this. the total lack of identification and the rented minivan are the most distributing thing...totally unamerican.
The democratic leadership has been holding the police response back and letting this get to a point where people will accept "law and order" even if this is the case.
straw man... most Repubs likely don't support illegal detentions bro. What about being a Republican would make them support that?
