Here’s something to debate and discuss. I was born and raised in Houston, and its an absolute joke how Texans love (or used to love) Blue Bell ice cream. New England is just covered in these little mom and pop ice cream shops, and every single one I’ve been in (and that’s a bunch through the years) has ice cream that is vastly superior to anything blue bell makes. It’s ice cream Mecca. Not surprised someone would almost come to blows over having to wait a few seconds to start eating it.
Yeah, I don't get it. Sure in teh 80's when it's Blue Bell vs. Bordens or Safeway/Kroger brand, it's probably better. But, you know, the rest of the country figured out how to make a lot of ice cream too. LIke there's this crazy thing called gelato from italy and blah blah etc.
I would expect ice cream coming from a small ice cream shop to be better than anything you could buy from a grocery store. I think Blue Bell is pretty good for relatively inexpensive grocery store ice cream.
Stopped eating Blue Bell after they, you know, killed people. I'm plenty happy with HEB Creamy Creations...especially right now as they have my favorite seasonal out. Poteet Strawberry. Oh man it's good...
It's not just New England. Like many other things there has been a craft revolution in ice cream throughout the country.
I’d hate to be an old person with poor vision. We have mom and pop ice cream shops all over. Cool cow creamery and Hey Mikeys are both by me and delicious.
These outside the loopers don't get it, teach your fellow outsiders. Checkout Sweet Cup. If yall aren't scared to go into Montrose. I think they also sell it at Whole Foods now.
