Yes also surprised how many women are religious as they were treated less valuable than livestock in almost every religion
This is true as well. My wife is from Iraq and has zero use for Islam and is quite hard on the majority of Christianity as well.... she points out that Islam has been used to justify the marginalization of women and that Christianity since Mary Magdalen has been used to limit what being a woman means. I saw her go off in Aramaic at a Persian woman... and then insult her again in Arabic over comments the woman made about my wife not covering her head and face.
I just want to say its good to have you in this forum. I don't always agree with you but I appreciate your independent thought. I always think of you as one of the Steve Francis defenders like me. You're also very level headed. I appreciate all the level headed guys as I do not like having a bad temper. Not a Whitlock fan but I appreciate a lot of his takes on blacks. Surprised to hear you support some of it
Thanks. I get that a lot in person. Man, I love Steve Francis. I was too involved in those discussions, though. You gotta be aware when you become too involved. TBH, it was so bad that I started to root more for Francis than the Rockets. I wanted to be right about him so bad that I couldn't enjoy a Rockets' win if he had a bad game and I would be happy when he had a good game even if the Rockets lost! SMH, so sad. That's why I took a step back from talking about the Rockets. Speak for Yourself, which I assume is Whitlock's brainchild, is why I like him. I agree with him most of the time. Especially his takes on patriarchy, fatherhood, manhood, leadership, and ownership. I learned a lot about him from the articles linked here... he's been consistent over the years is the best I could say.
Especially Muslim. Even as a youngster (pre teen) I never was comfortable how women where segregated and subservient.
If I'm not mistaken you were in the armed forces, isn't respect important for you guys? I imagine you were taught to respect those above and below you and even your enemies. Men need respect even in disagreement. How do you know that? Has she told you that she wouldn't wear the hijab if not for things that happened hundreds of years ago? For all you know, she agrees with structure and order in a society. Maybe she sees all these Karens and Kens running around acting crazy and sees the need for some order in society. Maybe she doesn't agree with the do what you want whenever you want society of today. I'm sure most Christians know that it is wrong to use the Bible to justify an evil like slavery. The Undefeated of today is not what Whitlock envisioned. Makes me wonder if ESPN was serious or if they knew what Whitlock was about or if they weren't planning on going woke. That said, some people are better off being alone and therefore don't make good leaders. I think it played a role in Whitlock's failure. But he played a major role himself. After reading the articles you posted, I agree that there was a great lack of respect for Whitlock as a leader, but he didn't seem to respect many either. It's surprising to read all of that because on his own show he was self-deprecating and the guys made fun of him all the time about his weight, his forever aloneness, and his hot takes. Who knows how he was to them behind the scenes or if he actually changed or if there was just mutual respect amongst all of them that made all of that bearable to him. I am disappointed in this recent move. I listened to him and Clay Travis together last night and it just doesn't sound right. They just don't have chemistry together and it doesn't seem like it could be developed. Maybe Whitlock needs black men or white dudes like Ric Bucher to vibe with. I think he was a wannabee Bill Simmons, but he lacks Simmons' charm, vision, and humor. This from a guy who bragged about running trains on girls with his buddies. How valuable were those women to you?
I'm sure those women were adults similar to his age. That means those women have agency as adult humans. You have to respect their ability to have their own agency.
Thank you for proving my point brother. You are the one that views the sexual choices a woman makes as devaluing them. I didn't think any less or different towards them for sleeping with me or my friends. They are adults, they are consenting and they have ownership of their body and no one else. You are the one with issues towards women and sex.
This. I have never had sex with a woman against her will. I have never pressured a woman to have sex with me. He has an outdated view of women and their sexuality as property.
Oh I respect their freedom to do what they want. Even if it's something I don't agree with like having trains ran on them. I just don't agree that it's the correct thing to do. Nor do I believe that someone who participates in them values himself or the woman who makes that type of choice.
So you are the one that has a negative view of female sexuality........ stop putting your flawed and antiquated values on others.
If you truly respected and loved women and yourself, you wouldn't participate in those types of acts. If I'm not confusing you for someone else, you are open to all kinds of things in your marriage so this won't be a pleasant conversation. That said, do women have ownership of their mind? Cause you made that humblebrag to devalue the press secretary. Did you not?
Serious question, how do you evaluate what is good and bad? What type of metrics do you use? Kindly educate us so we can know the errors of our ways.
If you truly did not have a negative view of sexuality and the right for women to have freedom of choice, you would not have a negative view of what consenting adults choose to do. No one owns anyone else. You have some issues you need to work through.
You act as if I'm calling for the return of iron chastity belts here. You didn't say, oh man, that Kayleigh, she looks like one of those strong, independent women that would choose to have trains ran on them by me and my teammates. The choices the women made that you are now acting as though were correct were devaluing when they became things the press secretary would hypothetically choose to do.
Do you believe there is right and wrong in this world? Do you believe that there is good and evil in this world?
What you are doing is deciding what sexual acts a healthy consenting woman should and should not be involved in based on your outdated views of sex and women. That is pretty bad. I don't care who Kayleigh sleeps with or doesn't sleep with.... I do believe she would be horrified that someone would suggest such a thing.... which I find fitting.... then again her opinions really have little value as she hated the President and viewed him as a shameful bigot until he offered her a job.... so her word isn't worth much to me.
