I don’t know who needs to hear this, but......McDonald’s is pausing dine in services for 3 weeks. If your McDonald’s is already open for dine in service and they are allowed to do so, than they can continue to open.

Also Galveston is closing all beaches for July 4th weekend.

For the last two weeks you've pointed out Cuomo and NY's response every time someone has criticized Florida or Texas' response.

    Hypocrite

I'll point it out when others whine and go on about Governor Abbott. It's only fair to share some relevant context and results.

What NY did or didn't do in March has no bearing on the safety of residents in TX or FL going forward. Focusing on what NY is doing right now though, would.

    Practice what you preach liltexxy.

oh, that’s convenient. Just forget about the 30,000 dead in NY. Sorry doesn’t work that way.

Li'l t is too slow to realize that the relevant additional "context" is that Abbot had the benefit of New York's experience to inform his actions around Covid-19 and he still completely **** the bed.

(CNN)About 300 teens were exposed to Covid-19 at a "pong fest" party in Lakeway, Texas, on June 20, local officials say.
    https://www.cnn.com/2020/07/01/us/texas-teens-party-coronavirus/index.html

Probably a bunch of spoiled rich kids who feel entitled to do as they want during the pandemic. I blame the parents. No telling how many others may have been exposed since then. This is why I stay home, as much as I hate it.

Meanwhile Texas hits 3 consecutive high single day totals of new cases. 8,076 today.

All his asks are very reasonable. He is asking for the gov to issues these orders or allow locals to issue them.
    • Mandatory masking (for individuals when gathering with non-household members inside or outside, not just through businesses and employers as currently authorized)
    • Removal of exceptions for gatherings of more than 100 people and a reduction of the number of any social group gatherings from 100 to 50, or even 10
    • Establishments such as "BYOB" or "gentlemen's" clubs that are regulated separately from bars, should be subject to the same regulations and closures as bars
    • Prohibit termination of an employee who stays home to isolate while waiting for a test result on those grounds
    • Bowling alleys and gyms to operate at 25 percent capacity
    • More isolation facilities so construction and health care workers have the needed opportunity to isolate and not infect household members, particularly family members who are elderly or immune-compromised
    • More PPE or funds for PPE for vulnerable households
    • Stipends for lost income for infected individuals who are isolating (so they isolate rather than return to work while infected or awaiting test results)
    • More tests and more rapid lab response (test results in the area are now delayed up to 4 to 5 days, and by then are less beneficial for public health reasons)
With this virus, what you see today is from 2-3 weeks ago. What you see in 2-3 weeks is from today. You can't wait until it's an emergency. If you wait till resources are out, you got another 2-3 weeks heading your way and you are in deep trouble. According to that mail, Houston/Harris could exceed their Covid19 1500 beds in 2 weeks.

I agree, but I can't help but think he will wait until after July 18th to consider some of those requests. He isn't about to cancel the convention and the 6,000 Trumpateers from coming to Houston. Think they will be wearing masks?

So...politics aside, what can be done to get people to wear masks and responsibly socially distance?
