Newsom should have made masks mandatory a lot earlier. Aside from serving as an important protective measure, it signals how serious the situation is and encourages other measures, like staying home and social distancing. Right now it looks like SoCal is really ****ing us.

I'd say a few countries in Europe didn't turn into Venezuela by issuing more restrictions. Ireland shut down pubs and restaurants and still have them closed. They nipped the spread in the butt quickly and efficiently without the uproar and disobedience we have here.

Who can provide data on the patients' age for the new cases? I heard in the Dallas area it's more the younger ages, which is less of a concern (although they need to take measures to prevent spreading it to the vulnerable).

Franklin was defending the Pennsylvania Legislature's authority to tax the Penn family to pay for defense during the French and Indian war. It was literally about the government having the authority to govern in the interest of public security.
