have you seen mike judges 'tales from the tourbus'? season 1 is country artists, but season 2 is funk and theres episodes about george clinton and bootsy. watched over the weekend and ive had this album and maggot brain in my rotation. i also heard this song for the first time recently. never listened to julian cope, but im really digging his album st. julian. some 80's greatness.
Eric F'N Church is one of two mainstream country artists that matter right now. Luke Combs being the other. This is real country music, with a message, by a mainstream artist. This song will be a hit. This may be his first song since he spoke out with a slight criticism of the NRA. And it makes a huge point. Love Eric Church.
Anyone watch this on TV back in the '80's? There are episodes on YouTube if you look. The video is often kind of off, but the music is frequently fantastic. Here's a sample. Poke around. There's some killer blues in this one. Tracy Nelson is definitely past her prime, though. Great stuff from John Hiatt, Robert Cray, and some nice sax from host Dave Sanborn.
Every music program hosted by Jools Holland has been good, IMO. Another John Hiatt's song from 1989
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Probably played at many a wedding. Also...I bet going to a Flaming Lips concert is a blast. Those guys looks like they'd put on a fun show. ...and f'in dominating acid/rave/early 90s edm fantasticness...built in 2020...
I'm kind of embarrassed about how much I like the new Haim album. Pretty expertly crafted 70s pop-rock. There's a trio of quality producers/artists that worked on it, so the sound is great. Also, Danielle Haim is one talented lady.
