Unless they're running for government it shouldn't be a concern. Samuel Gompers, one of the first to create or at least get credited with the concept of a Worker's Union was heavy into Karl Marx. Work unions are necessary and important. This BLM is a humanity union of sorts that has caught on worldwide. Freaking Premier league players all took a knee before the game last week. It's kind of important. Things that go against oppression will always be "radical". It's just the way it is. On Mr. Marx, I like Karl he was a cool dude except he didn't believe in our savior Jesus, a truly righteous dude. Talk to me again if BLM becomes a political party. Politics would be more interesting if they did have more parties that could take home the political prize. Having 2 kind of bores me.
That is the Congressional district voting map for the Civil Rights Act which was passed less than one human life span ago. Look at that entire region that voted no through their reps. You think those sentiments that fought against desegregation from MILLIONS of Americans just magically vanished in a couple of decades? How naive are you? Half the country thought MLK was a ****ing marxist race baiter. Did that half of the country vanish into the ****ing rapture? United States history has force funneled black people into poor neighborhoods and modern systems are keeping those neighborhoods down through how funding is distributed and how drug enforcement is handled in these communities along with right wing leaders convincing idiots like you that the problem vanished. https://www.washingtonpost.com/loca...62b704-3915-11e9-a06c-3ec8ed509d15_story.html Education is not ****ing equal. The most important stage of human development that will impact a person's intelligence and their success in life is from the ages of 0-5. The school systems in these poor neighborhoods for k-12 and pre-k are absolutely **** and most of it has to do with local school systems being funded by property taxes. So we force funneled poor black families into poor urban neighborhoods with low property values and now have a system of public k-12 education funded through property taxes. School choice? Get the **** out of here. In a poor urban high school of 5000 students, maybe 100 of them will win a lottery to move to a decent school while the rest are left behind in their shitty underfunded school
I hope you would understand. Marxism in itself is nothing more than a economic system. It makes no claim on certain races being inferior. You can disagree with the economic system as being not pragmatic but it doesn't really make moral claims about tribes of people that cause genocide based on what race or religion you were born into.
Because one is remembered for killing millions of Jews and the other is another word for communist. Communism has never succeeded but the idea is nice if it actually worked. Ethnonationalosm has less stink than fascism which has a lot less stink than Nazism.
You deflect. BLM admitted it. MLK didn't. No one is even bringing that up. Also moves are being made to help communities and education equalize but that takes time and honestly won't equalize quickly because of the way economics is not something you can just snap your fingers and change. You want to argue the there are some poor black schools? Yes there are. So let's talk about getting some more funding. How about money for all poor schools. Isn't that fair? Not one will argue that we should address economic inequality and that the route is education. You are honestly bringing up an old debate, one that gets ignored by BOTH sides when they get power. WTF have democrat run cities done to improve education. Look at any cities where they take charge. Have they lifted the black communities or gentrified them out? Have they helped black schools? None of the politicians give a damn and that's a huge issue. But it goes beyond people being black. The poor have gotten a shitty end of the stick forever in education. One thing I find interesting is how people want to just argue the blacks deserve this attention. Should a white kid born in a poor area with a shitty school not also get funding? All kids matter bro no matter their skin color. That's the least racist approach and until you and others get it in your thick skulls, you will get ignored. Making it all about race when it's an economics issue is a joke and divisive.
by communism never succeeded you mean communism is remembered for killing millions of chinese? and killing millions of russians?
Blacks deserve the attention because we force funneled them into these conditions over a course of 400 years. White people who are poor aren't poor because they are white. There are millions of black people today that are poor because of their skin color. Causality is a b**** and the politicians you support are all for local funding of schools rather than a SUBSTANTIAL increase in federal backing of these poor communities so I know you don't ****ing care.
Is it in marxist literature that they should kill Chinese people? Geopolitical disputes that result in people dying doesn't mean the economic system paradigm between capitalism and communism was the reason. However Nazism was the reason why there was genocide of Jews and other minorities in most of Europe because it's literally in their literature and core ideology to force out all non Aryan Germans. As one of the more conservative leaning posters, I have respect for you but this is one of those 'yikes' takes .
Is there something in Marxist literature that you can point to that suggest that Chinese people should be killed like how Nazi literature such as Mein Kampf discusses how to remove Jews from the Reichland? We can actually delve into the literature of these ideologies if you want as a compare and contrast.
Black people aren't poor because they are black. They have opportunities now and that argument is a huge over simplification and deflection from the harder economic and social reality. Blaming a specter of the past is not an honest way to view reality. That's simplifying the situation. The individuals have a responsibility to earn what they get in the system we live under. A system that is open to anyone from any skin color or background willing to put in the work and play by the rules. Hell, black students today have it easier than anyone else and they also get preferential hiring. Just let this generation and the next keep working and you will see that gap continue to close. Seriously though, stop acting like blacks all have a magical excuse for poverty. That's bullshit and you should know it.
Yes, most black people today who are poor are poor due to the 400 years of history prior. Those 400 years shuffled the decks. To not acknowledge this is the exact reason why people say Black Lives Matter. It's as if causality doesn't exist with people like you. And since the Civil Rights act, we have done hardly anything to decrease the gap in funding in poor minority neighborhoods vs white wealthy ones. Again, there is a 23 BILLION dollar gap even accounting for population differences between minority school districts and white majority school districts. A lot of the poor black people you are referring to as being poor all on their own wouldn't be poor most likely if they were born into a middle class suburb and had their dad line up an internship. And a lot of white people would be poor criminals today if they weren't born into a middle class neighborhood where their dad could line up an internship. The 400 years of history is what shuffled the decks so black children are significantly disproportionately born into poor underfunded communities today relative to a white child.
I think the key difference in arguments is that BLM types and a lot of the people on this board treat black people like they are lesser. They treat them like they have no agency and individual merit to determine their fates. People like myself respect black people and the strength of their individuality as people. Not just some part of a collective that needs a savior.
