They are asking he be held without bail. Do you truly think he is such a risk to the public they should hold him without bail?

I don't agree with that but he has a lawyer and the legal system to remedy that.

This also happens all the time and this guy has many more resources to remedy that.

It may be for his own safety and to keep the angry mob pacified.

Someone in trouble with the law has more motive to hurt others if it helps them escape. But those potential scenarios are not why Brooks was shot. Brooks was shot because he fired a lethal weapon at law enforcement. Why do you ignore that?

But attacking random bystanders doesn't help them escape. Because despite him firing a taser didn't put the officer in risk of his life.

There are multiple stopped cars with running engines that he could have jacked. A tased cop is at risk of dying.

Jacked with what? An expended Taser doesn't help with that

An expended taser can still be used to drive stun. That's not even the point. We're debating how Brooks is a public danger and that the officers had to give immediate chase while Brooks is armed.

A man who is willing to fight police, steal their weapons, and use it against them poses an immediate threat to everyone around him. People that desperate to evade the police are dangerous. This fact cannot be sidestepped.

You're talking in circles but not making a point. Set aside whatever assumptions you have, look at the facts, and then look at how the black community selecrively ignores them as part of a larger agenda. This hurts the few sincere BLM people out there. No other community would have an issue with someone of their own "community" committing the same actions and getting shot. Learn how to separate abuse of power from reacting correctly to a situation. Again, my suggestion is the best one here - set out a task force of unarmed , know it all internet police like rocketsjudoka to handle these situations and show us how it's done.

    That depends on the circumstances.

Link? Let's be very clear - the sentence above is a lie based on every available metric from 1984 until today.

Would a UBI end your definition of poverty? No unemployment or welfare, just a standard UBI each month and an initiative to pool resources in underprivileged communities (whether for small businesses or education). I have proposed it many times for those who are unemployed (I do not think it should be for EVERYONE) including those making 60, 80 + a year.

I've quoted past studies to you and you just ignore them apparently and say it's a lie. Which of course means you believe blacks are more violent than whites which is a troubling idea that you'd expect from a white nationalist. The fact that you are asserting a claim that blacks are more violent WITHOUT evidence is further troubling.

I believe I am wasting my time with you, but I'll indulge you one last time before I write you off

Well I hope he is not being kept with truly dangerous people. Things are getting ridiculous with this event. The company his stepmother worked for fired her today.

Perhaps if you're reading comprehension was up to par, I wouldn't feel the need to "talk in circles."

    1. A gun is a gun, a taser is a taser, they are very different.

    2. I'm not the one with the assumptions, actually I'm pointing out how assumptions are meaningless in this case. Why? Because of the "he could've done this or that" argument.

    3. You called someone out because they lacked real world scenarios such as cuffing a resistant suspect. I have. That's why I chimed in.

    4. I'm not really sure how you're opinions of other communities are going to hold any water.

    5. I'm all about facts, I've listed them repeatedly.

    6. Social workers? No.

    7. You say to "set aside all assumptions" and make an assumption in the same sentence.

    8. I hope I've made my points very clear for you this time.

Why did they fire her? Was it related to the shooting?

    After watching the video again...
    • Brooks has a long history of violence, the police know this
    • Brooks initiates a fight with the police
    • Brooks steals the policeman's taser
    • As Rolfe is running to apprehend Brooks, his partner is behind him after suffering a concussion.
    • Rolfe is 1-on-1 with a maniac at this point. Brooks then turns around and FIRES the taser at the cop. Had that connected, the cop would have been incapacitated, and Brooks could have stolen his gun and shot him dead.
    • During the chase Brooks quickly pivoted after shooting off the taser, which caused Rolfe's shots to hit him in the back. This was lightning fast and a split-second turn by Brooks. When the anti-police defenders say Brooks was shot in the back, it's really dishonest. Look at the video. It was bang-bang and occurred right after Brooks literally tried to incapacitate Rolfe with his taser.
This was a life or death situation for the officer. He was completely justified in the decision to shoot. He was also doing his best to protect the community against an obvious threat. If I were on the jury there's not a chance in hell I'd vote to acquit on ANY of the counts.

The GA Bureau of Investigations have said they are still collecting evidence so this investigation is still ongoing. Yes I am interested in seeing more evidence but from the evidence presented by DA Howard it appears to be the opposite of what was done in the Floyd case where Freeman and Ellison but started out cautiously and then has more evidence came out raised the charge.

I realize all of this but I don't know what it has to do with what I said.

These types of arrest happen all the time at the discretion of the DA, maybe it is rushed maybe it's not the GBI does not have jurisdiction of the case and they can still investigate.

My point being is that Rolfe is not getting any undo treatment and still has all of his remedy to present his case.

People are arrested all the time even if there are grey areas and investigations are ongoing why should he be any different?
