I first heard the term some time ago. They (or the idea of them) has been around a LONG time. From what I have seen - the left will say they are from the right. The right will say they are from the left. And the masses will file it under "conspiracy theory". From what I understand, these people have been radicalized in some way, are anti-govt, want to rebel and are the types of people you might find at an anarchist bookstore or dark web chatrooms.

Internet-fueled extremism does seem to be a growing problem, but I don't think it's helpful to say conservatives (or alternately, Democrats) are responsible for abetting them or policing them. The FBI should be policing them because they are criminals engaged in criminal conspiracies.
He supports an ideological base that has fantasized about a coming civil/race war for decades. I value the power of political peer pressure. Only conservatives can really extinguish the civil/race war component that exists within conservative circles. The FBI can arrest them after the fact, conservatives can make it undesirable to fan the flames.

The people in the video were dressed in black and no other indicators they were in Antifa. There's no way you can assume they were antifa protestors - and how does it even make sense? Why would Antifa be interested in making BLM look bad? Antifa are anti-fascists. These people were more likely white nationalists looking to cause trouble.
