Overdue. But I know my family that’s the most vocal against kneeling looks at JJ like a god. I’m curious if they’ll finally listen or just attack him.

When white kids in Iowa are doing the Kaepernick, you know you've won.

Uncle Ben Carson is supposed to explain to a White Supremist what the kneeling was all about? Now that is a colossal waste of time as DJT and his MAGA groupies already KNOW (and knew) why Cap was kneeling. They simply don't have the slightest interest in people of color and the problems they are facing. But if DJT and his groupies can promote the narrative the people of color - the "others" aren't behaving in the manner to which they dictate then he can score political points with all who want a return to the "good old days" of legalized discrimination and segregation.

"There are plenty of things you can protest,” Trump said. “I don’t want to see people kneel for the national anthem, for the American flag. You stand, be proud, put your hand on your heart, salute if you’d like to do that. But you have to show respect.”

NFL wants him back now because now he's a money maker. That's all it is, he can draw a lot of eyes when at first they thought all their hardcore southern fans would shun them they see most of the country agrees with Kap and it would be a good story for him to go back.

But Kap doesn't have anything to really gain from the NFL now unless he comes back and wins a superbowl and he's just not doing that anymore. If he comes back and sucks, which is very very likely, everyone will just say "See, he never deserved to be on a team," and ignore his prime years + rust at one of the hardest positions to play in sports means its likely he's not going to be very good.

As for Trump? He contradicts himself on literally everything so this is no surprise.

I don't think with Kaepernick it's a money thing. Football is a big part of his life and as a highlevel athlete he might want to get the chance to compete again at the highest level.

I very highly doubt he comes back as a starter. From listening to discussions here in MN the most he would come back is as a backup and maybe someone who comes in for third down plays to keep the D guessing. If Cousins stays healthy and plays well if Kaepernick is a Viking he might never take a game time snap.

Yeah the Vikings should get him so the fans don’t burn the city down
Not because he’s any better than Cousins

I remember Kap was terrible when he was playing under chip Kelly
The same offense that made Vick and Nick Foles money

Whether the Vikings get Kap or not I don't think that will matter much if people burn the city down or not. If Chauvin isn't found guilty I would worry very much about what happens to Minneapolis. Even if Kaepernick is starting for the Vikings I don't think that will save Minneapolis.

I've never believed that Kaepernick should be black listed for kneeling but I also don't think an NFL team should resign Kaepernick just because of protest. I don't know where Kaepernick physically but according to many in the league he can still play. I doubt he can come back at the same level as when he went to the Super Bowl but if he can play then bring him in as a backup.

For the Vikings there isn't a good backup so he might be useful in MN but he's very different type player from Cousins. I don't know if the Texans have considered him but he might be better as a back up for Watson since they are more similar type players.
