Strange thing to say when police across the nation were being hailed as community heroes a week before the Floyd killing.
Surely they can be trusted to perform military like actions?

The Police are not the military that is not their role. We are not at war and we are not an occupied nation.

This is a good point. LE have risked their health and safety many a time during the COVID crisis and during many natural disasters.
Remember how much praise this LEO got during Harvey?

The truth is the institution of law enforcement is somewhere between the heroes of Harvey and the villains of George Floyd. We should remember both when we decide to possibly defund or disband them.

Precisely the job for the Police.
But, it's the fear of killing black people that is the roadblock here. As soon as one gets killed, the media splashes it across every headline.
It's as if every other ethnic group doesn't matter.

Agree, except with the notion of defunding or disbanding the police. It would allow military (marshall) law or anarchy to take over and there goes the American way of life. People think life is unfair now, just wait for that to happen.
I certainly appreciate their protection and would like to think that I have a resource to call on if I feel endangered.

I don't know that with 800,000 LEOs responding to (10's or hundreds of) millions of calls a years and a country swimming with 400 million guns 1,000 fatal police shootings is an absurd result.

I got to think getting rid of the 400 million guns swimming around would reduce fatal police shooting. I'm sure some of those shooting deaths do result directly from gun battles.

I'm down with getting rid of all them, or something similarly drastic, the rest of y'all aren't though.

Regarding one of the recent stories here, has C.H.A.Z. authorized access to the Seattle Fire Department? It's only law enforcement who are banned at this point correct?

Completely disagree. When you are going full speed your heel should never touch the ground. You generate your jumping ability through your calves not your feet. If your heel hits the ground it makes you flat footed (even if only for a second) and takes inches off your vertical.

Nice that this country of CHAZ/CHOP is working with us as an ally to the USA ..credit to Trump for letting the local warlords find the path to the lesser evil

Not at all, your jump begins with your heel so you can get the max force from your quads/core/hammys/gluts. Then as your foot rolls forwards as you go up, you engage your calves for that extra push. The calves are a weak leg muscle relative to your other muscles and work best when you are already in an upward motion (thus reducing your effective weight and the force required to give you additional upward force).

This about it when you first step down from a run you are heavier as your mass is moving down. But you need to use your other muscles to get your body moving upward so your calves don't have to overcome your weight. That's why you always jump heel to toe and never on your toes except when you need to get back up in the air immediately (like Dennis Rodman does when he misses the rebound the first time)

Humanity will earn a +1 if this doesn't end up like how Occupy NY did after all the cameras chased the new n shiny spectacle while the high of idealism wore down inside its borders and all that was left were tough decisions no one wanted to make or take.

They should agree to some concessions and play the adult, even if they're being lied to because the alternative of imploding under their own "flat" hierarchy is more troubling to their movement than anything else.

In hindsight, the eyesore that ended up being Occupy set back the class inequality debate for another decade....

Blaming everything on the Democrats is silly just like blaming everything on Trump is silly.

The reality is, much like San Francisco, the region can not support high traffic. The generational natives who once could afford the area are now pushed out into impoverished areas or into the streets. As more and more money floods into the city, housing skyrockets. Eventually the run-of-the-mill blue collar worker drones can't afford the housing because there simply is not enough real estate to accommodate everyone. All they can do is build up, but even then, local traffic is still very congested. NYC has done a decent job managing this problem.
This is also why Houston, DFW, San Antonio and Austin are doing well.
