That seems close to Westside Tennis or whatever it is called now.

    Vaguely.

The Cy Fair - Jersey Village area is outside my normal range of Westheimer (FM 1093) and South - Southwest to Sugar Land, Rosenberg, Richmond etc.

I'm sure I misspelled that, but my dad and I used to go hang out and watch the planes take off and land, right on the other side of Westheimer/Dairy Ashford. I got to go up in Cessna's when I was a kid, now it's some sort of massive gated community.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrau_Airpark

I knew somebody that rented a plane from there. He talked me and another guy to go fly with him in the late 70's - early 80's. We had to chip in and ended up paying for most of his plane rental. I only went with him one time because seeing West Houston once was enough for me.

Royal Oaks was built on that land.

west Houston is my home now. After being born in SE memorial (now defunct), spending my days through third grade walking distance from Mt. Carmel Church and school (now defunct), and then moving to and spending the rest of my primary school years in Sharpstown (now mostly defunct), I feel like I’ve hit the jackpot. Leave west Houston alone!

Mt Carmel was one of the schools we played in sports in the 80-90's.

Not in our district in football...

My grandparents drove to that game my freshman year, and they watched us get beat 55-6 or something like that, only football game of mine they ever saw. My freshman year was the first year we had varsity football. 4-6 though, we beat Concordia Lutheran that year which never should have happened. One of the 2 games they lost all year?

Should have stuck with the soccer program, we were really, really good at that.

My brother has a 100 acre farm in Apple Springs. Mostly as a hobby for now, but plans on doing it full time after retiring in 8 years. Partly cattle and partly a tree farm. He did backhoe a good size pond that has catfish & crawfish. I know he tried doing a wine garden but messed that up. Has a ranch hand he found at a homeless shelter that has worked full time out there for at least 5 years.

BTW, east Texas land is cheap if you want to build a farm or ranch.

Sounds about like mine. Heat's not bad yet, zucchini and squash and cucumbers are going nuts (they'll die first), tomatoes and peppers are doing their thing, I'll have those until late August, I planted the okra and eggplant later than everything else since they love heat. 8 baby cantaloupes and 6 watermelons are in my future as well. Blackberries are going strong. Peaches and plums on the trees. No apricots this year, had a huge crop last year and apparently when they do that the trees take a year or 2 off.
