You very well could be right. MSM could be pushing the female black narrative while ignoring any other female candidates he is eyeing. I haven't delved that deep into it. Regardless, I feel if he does select a black female candidate, it will be perceived as identity politics and turn off some of the moderate to right leaning moderates who are ready for Trump to go. I am glad you see why many are calling MSM 'fake news'.
Seriously though... if fake "Independents" who are really Trump supporters are vehemently opposed to Kamala Harris that might be a pretty good indication that she's actually a great candidate. I think though that Bernie's camp did a number on her from an opposition research perspective early in the primary where they went deep in her proprietorial record, and really tried to paint a picture of a cop on par with Bill Barr or Jeff Sessions. It was unfair for sure, and you could create a narrative from any AG's record in a huge state like Cali or Texas or Florida, but the point is... many on the far left Progressive side fell trap to that hit job by Bernie's camp in the primary and still have a bad taste in their mouth about her. So I say that to say that we do have to be careful to decipher the posters here like Glynch vs someone like Corrosion or B@ffled who are definitely not progressive Bernie supporters. Corrosion and Glynch have a negative opinion of Kamala Harris for completely different reasons I'm sure, and that's pretty important to decipher.
It's not fake news, it's corporate media, or political entertainment. There is legitimate fact checking, and information sharing that does happen, but what CNN and MSNBC are more than anything is a corporate run revenue based political entertainment show which makes them susceptible to manipulation by someone like Trump to get coverage that impacts overall general public knowledge and awareness of certain matters. However even NBC has legit news shows such as Lester Holts nightly recap of the day, etc. CNN has very informative segments that then delve into entertainment with a "debate" that often is very unproductive, etc. So no... i don't see why some call all of it "fake news". It just is what it is... corporate media. If you use that term it's because you are someone who wants to make up your own facts, and reality to suite your political tribalism. That term is not something I would ever use. I don't think I've ever even used that term to describe FoxNews although I've used some pretty harsh language to describe that propaganda network before. If FoxNews released a poll, or a report about a certain fact that came out that might or might not be damning to my tribe, I wouldn't just say "Ohh.. FAKE NEWS" and disregard the facts of the matter just to continue to live in my own alternate reality like Trumpers do. On selecting a Black Candidate, he should just select the best candidate. If you can't make the case for your Veep, then you shouldn't select her. I think Biden has some pretty smart people in his camp that are going through the process and will think about all things Veep Candidate. If Susan Rice is selected, that's not someone you can say is selected just because she's black. That would be an insult to her credentials. Even with Stacy Abrams, that is sort of an insult given all she's done in the past two years in terms of voting rights, etc. and she's wicked smart & articulate as hell. I just don't see that like you do if you look at the actual candidates that happen to be black. These are mostly really high level and talented people. Susan Rice and Stacy Abrams, and even Kamala Harris are NOT Sarah Palin.
You have a really active imagination. You should consider a career writing fiction of some sort. Where do you get this stuff? “Worse than trump.” Seriously? With all due respect, don’t be ridiculous. I’m not a fan of Ms Harris and hope Biden doesn’t pick her, but you opinion quoted here is absurd. Off the reservation. Again, with all due respect and in my opinion.
Kamala has her own issues with the Police as well as she is not well liked by black voters. She does nothing to energize voters as well. Susan Rice is a name to watch.
It's not only Bernie's camp who feel that way, there are real questions about her policies as AG. Personally I don't think she does anything for the ticket besides being black and a woman she is kind of Tim Kaine light IMO.
I meant that Bernies campaign was the one who was well funded enough to do really deep and precise opposition research. So a Bernie supporter would have been more likely to be subjected more to negative attack material on Kamala. I'm sure many people are turned off by a former prosecutor, but I see it mostly with Bernie supporters because of this. I think we've talked about her before, and you likely know how I feel about her which I believe you disagree with which is that I think she has or had a very high ceiling with much going for her as a talent, but just has trouble capitalizing on that. For whatever reason people just aren't moved by her like they were with Obama. I definitely think Biden has better talent on the pool of VP candidates. I think Susan Rice is who I would maybe look at first if I was consulting Biden's camp but I'm surely not. She sort of no nonsense, highly articulate, and has great credibility in a position of leadership given her experience. You can imagine her walking into a room with all the leaders of the world, and her really commanding the rooms attention. If she pulled Putin off to the corner of the room and looked him straight in the face as the VP or President, the world would be like Hell Yeah.
I'm not a Kamala fan either and I'd rather see any of the other 5 short-listers, but who's more "evil, part of the problem, not a solution?" Kamala as VP or Trump as POTUS? Not voting for Biden, for whatever reason, is a vote for Trump. I know I'm not telling you anything you don't already know.
don't think she has great credibility, she seems like a grandstander to me, which I think is why she did not gain traction. Yes we have had this discussion before and agree to just disagree.
You don't think Susan Rice has great credibility? Not sure if you missed the part where I said that I think Rice would be a much better pick for that reason.
Duckworth isn't black and that is why she will not get the VP position. She is also viewed as a "ball buster". I love her and love that she can and will go up against anyone, but my guess is she has to wait.
The bigger question is when someone lists a petty reason why they don't like Biden and aren't voting for him, are they either: -Not engaging in good faith, and actually a Trump supporter -Just looking for reasons to go where they want to go with their vote anyways to Trump because they like him but are ashamed because they know he's vile. -Or are they just completely illogical progressives that care more about showing how pure they are vs actually solving the problems they say they care about What does logic tell you here: If you are a liberal and like people like Bernie/AOC... who is more likely to listen to the Bernie/AOC base of supporters when decisions are made in legislation? Do you think Trump is going to bring Bernie or AOC into the conversation when it comes to things like climate change or healthcare or is Joe Biden more likely to give them a seat at the table? And the big one is how much as a liberal do you care about the Supreme Court making decisions that actually do impact your lives like womens reproductive rights. Who do you think is more likely to pick a RGB replacement that votes in favor of Womens rights? Do you want another Brett Kavanaugh or do you want another RGB or Kagan? This is such a no brainer decision as a voter that it's just not possible IMO to be in one of those three buckets when it comes to Biden's vote if you claim to be someone who is not a Trump hardcore cult follower. I want to respect people's decision making process, and their ability to come to their own conclusions of what is the responsible thing to do, but my patience can get lost pretty quick if I feel like you are either in bucket 1 or even worse bucket 3.
I wish you guys would stop using this idiotic logic. Let me put this in perspective; If everyone who stayed home was really voting for Trump, Biden would lose in a landslide. When people like you say 'If you're not on my side, you're the enemy', it only encourages me to vote for Trump. Fortunately this narrow-mindedness is not common. Most people are adults. We dont need this childish peer pressure.
Which is why I never take you serious about anything. Your life view involves being a victim and not trusting anyone you dont like.
Kamala made her way to the top off of prosecuting minorities .... worst is her issues with the death penalty. She's a self serving POS. Anyone but Kamala.
