On issues regarding blacks I think we have to move forward from the fight against racism. We have to focus on internal issues.
I think one thing that prevents us from moving forward is the fight against racism is so ingrained in our culture because it was a long battle that we just are stuck. We need to be able to take a step back and look where we are.

Its not like there is no more racism but its only so much we can do about it. Legally there isn't much further we can go. We have civil rights. We have other protections like hate crime legislation.

We gained civil rights almost sixty years ago. We have not changed our focus in that time and in terms of trying to stop the cycle of poverty in our community we never talk about the Internal issues. When i get attacked for focusing on internal issues i ask a simple question, as individuals if we want to improve don't we need to take a critical look at ourselves?

We can debate or simply acknowledge that some of these internal problems are a result of years of discrimination, however at the end of the day these problems can only be fixed by us. The government can't fix broken homes

They don’t matter apparently if blacks are upstanding nonviolent cops. Unfortunately, or businessmen trying to do the right thing and not act like idiots

Not sure what your point is. BLM is about fighting against the fact that police don't seem to value black lives as much as other races.

So if only blacks are allowed to be cops would this invalidate BLM? Which btw I’m in favor of. Who you gonna hate when you can’t hate yourself..seriously this would solve a lot of BS, just have blacks be the cops and this absolutely would be a move towards jobs, peace and goodwill towards bringing us togethern

There are plenty of black cops guilty of treating blacks differently than whites so no, that wouldn't fix things or invalidate BLM.

The movement is about how the police treat blacks, not about how white cops vs black cops treat blacks.

So he respects other posters by cussing them when they have not done the same?

He respects other posters by going personal when not called for.

Have you not seen him constantly blaming black people for everything?

The 1st critical question he asks will be the 1st his questions are always in service of an agenda.

I guess you don't want to be taken serious anymore coming to the defense of PG who is constantly cursing other posters for no reason.

I believe that the proper MAGA (and their right-wing Christian cohorts) response would be: "Those godless Muslims along with (fill in the blank) ____________ allies seek to impose Sharia Law upon this great and magnificent nation (note: Hillboy wraps himself in american flag to display his boundless patriotism and virtue).

Naw, he's just trolling folks here by deliberately being deliberately obtuse although he did have me LMAO at most of his posts. I was particularly moved at his "blame the victim" post about Black people needing to look within themselves for the reasons as to why economic progress has so far eluded them. This is the standard refrain of the (so-called) Black Republicans whom DJT regularly uses as props for his numerous photo ops.

They've been doing this tactic for awhile to create a deficit of available seats and get people to donate to get VIP status or whatever. It's Donald Trump... everything is pay to play.

When the police force is greater than around 30% black the treatment of blacks and other POC by police officers improves significantly.

    https://www.wsj.com/articles/trump-...economy-in-wsj-interview-11592493771?mod=e2tw

On race issues, Mr. Trump said a black Secret Service agent told him the meaning of Juneteenth as the president was facing criticism for initially planning to hold his first campaign rally in three months on the day.

The rally is scheduled to be held in Tulsa, Okla., where, in 1921, a mob of white residents attacked and killed black community members, destroying a thriving black business district.

Holding a rally on that day, particularly as racial protests continued throughout the country, was insensitive, African-American leaders told Mr. Trump. He eventually pushed the rally back a day to June 20.

“I did something good: I made Juneteenth very famous,” Mr. Trump said, referring to news coverage of the rally date. “It’s actually an important event, an important time. But nobody had ever heard of it.”

Mr. Trump said he polled many people around him, none of whom had heard of Juneteenth. Mr. Trump paused the interview to ask an aide if she had heard of Juneteenth, and she pointed out that the White House had issued a statement last year commemorating the day. Mr. Trump’s White House has put out statements on Juneteenth during each of his first three years.

“Oh really? We put out a statement? The Trump White House put out a statement?” Mr. Trump said. “Ok, ok. Good.”

Forty-seven states and the District of Columbia commemorate or observe Juneteenth, according to a Congressional Research Service report released earlier this month. Some are calling on the three remaining states—North Dakota, South Dakota and Hawaii—to formally recognize the holiday as well. Companies including Twitter Inc. and Target Corp. have for the first time declared the day an official company holiday. Some activists are asking all workers to strike on the day in solidarity.

Mr. Trump said he was eager to return to the campaign trail, and looking forward to Saturday’s rally. “It’s going to be a hell of a night,” Mr. Trump said.

The rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma will be Mr. Trump’s first since the outbreak of coronavirus. The city’s mayor said he can’t assure the health of rallygoers, some of whom have already started lining up outside the arena. The Trump campaign has said it will do temperature checks and provide masks to attendees, but will not require they be worn. Mr. Trump said that some attendees may catch the virus, adding “it’s a very small percentage.”

Asked if he would be fine with Ivanka Trump, his eldest daughter and a senior White House adviser, sitting in the crowded audience inside the arena, he said he would. “First all she’s young,” he said, adding that elderly Americans were more likely to become severely ill or die from the disease.
