He purposely dumbs down his speech. I remember watching something years ago where he stated he made the decision to limit his vocabulary when speaking to unsophisticated people. At this point I think he has done it so long it takes a second to think of the proper term so he rolls with whatever flies out of his mouth.

Something is clearly off with Trump -- several recent public appearances have included odd movements, slurred slow speech, and difficulties with simple tasks. I don't know if he had a small stroke or is taking a medication that is causing his problems, but something has changed significantly.

Not interested in his degenerative diseases. Don't want to speculate on it. It isn't the cause of his presidential deficiency. And, if he dies or becomes a vegetable in office, that's why we have a VP. I get the political strategy. Since Biden will be attacked for his age, make sure people understand Trump isn't actually a better alternative in that regard. I'd rather not make it a consideration for either candidate. Look at both VP candidates carefully. Even a perfectly healthy young president can up and die on you one day, so you better be comfortable with the VP.

OSHA is probably run by a Trump sycophant now, so no reason to expect safe working conditions anywhere. (I was right. Loren Sweatt has been Acting Asst Secretary of Labor since July 2017 and runs OSHA.)

...would it be beyond the pale of reckoning to wonder, if the Donald had had the unfortunate circumstance of stumbling and/or falling down that walk, if he actually would have sued his own agency?

...I mean, TECHNICALLY he wouldn't be suing "his" government agency...just an agency that's part of the Deep State apparatus the Donald is tirelessly trying to unravel...:D;)

I don't believe the majority here are discussing problems with his presidency (there are certainly barbs) we're discussing a rapid change in his demeanor that appears strikingly different from the person we were familiar with. We're not seeing quick flubs but a long period of time during a speech that he appears overly medicated at a minimum.

Agree. I'm not saying it's even a top-10 issue for his presidency. It's just, to me, worthy of noting.
At any rate, I don't see it as political strategy, and hereby pledge that his health will in no way influence my vote come November. ;)

There is definitely 'speculation' but IMO it's more providing a taste of his own medicine so to speak.

He is a person of public interest, so I suppose it's unavoidable. From the POV of a celebrity suffering an ailment, it's a bit voyeuristic. Feels like politics gives it a veneer of public interest, but I think it is mostly veneer. Of course, Trump does make it worse for himself by putting focus on such things as markers of strength. A tremor that sometimes makes it hard for him to drink doesn't necessarily mean there is a more ominous problem lurking, but of course when he's seen that in others he has pounced all over it as a sign of weakness.

The focus and ridicule is certainly a result of Trump's endless mocking of anyone with even the slightest health problem or physical issue he can pounce on -- nothing has been off limits.

yeah, f*** him. he goes around constantly mocking others looks and physical ailments (even a reporter with cerebral palsy). making fun of him for this is totally fair game...and its also important to point out the hypocrisy of his relentless attacks on others.

he mocked rubio for the way he drank water. he accuses biden of having dementia. he accused hill-dog of being on her death bed and having brain damage.

i hope he lives a long time, but if he has a stroke or dementia i will find it most humorous. f*** him.

This part of how good of a marketer he is. It is a standard tactic, "Now, I'm not a big fancy talkin guy.. I'm just plain folk like y'all..."

Trump is the President and given how much power is invested in the Presidency his health is a matter of public importance.

This. Sometimes the high road works in politics but sometimes you aim for the eyes, throat, and/or balls.

    well damn

He has the nerve to call Biden “Sleepy Joe?”

It looks like he’s about to yawn and take a nap in the middle of his speech.

I’m thinking it was a golf injury trying to beat people trying to throw a round to him.
