I'm curious how the virus will effect businesses for the next 3-4 months. There is a LOT of out of sight out of mind going on. It's going to hit more people though and what happens when someone you know gets sick? Does that make you want to go out shopping and to a restaurant less then?
it was an outgrowth of the de-facto shutdown of online sports gambling, fueled by irrational exuberant, and funded by stimulus and unemployment checks
Might be time to pick up some calls EOD. Looking at MSFT $200c 07/24. If it dips again tomorrow, I'm comfortable adding stocks to my long positions.
Lol, hopefully... I broke my normal plan yesterday and didn't close out on some calls I knew needed to be moved. Yay!!
AMD is remaining fairly stable again with all this chaos -- I only buy occasionally for long term and I'm starting to feel comfortable with a moderate purchase. The only concern is that I recall they have had several of these periods of high quality products followed by production of garbage -- lack of long-term consistency has been an issue for decades if memory serves.
I didn't make my moderate move at the peak but close enough. I got really really worried about longer term COVID after China locked that second area down amid a lot of mystery and incomplete data. And whatever anyone thinks of politics, this is just going to be a crazy year through November with wild statements, unrest, wild policy fights, international unrest, burning blimps, you name it.
I guess just the thought that the whole recent surge from the 'bottom' was a COVID-infected cat bounce. Does that make sense? But I'm terrible at these things. It wasn't a huge move but one I wanted to make in case this whole thing enters depression-like territory. The unemployment stats are pretty alarming to me and a 2nd wave, or several waves, will scare off consumers no matter what governments do or don't do.
Yeah I don't really ever mess with this stuff, but it's interesting to read and helps stay familiar with what is going on. Back in the day I played with day trading for a little while when it was a new must try money maker. Nope I have zero patience for it -- went ok for a short time then I got bored made riskier moves and quickly lost my money. In my case very comparable to online poker and daily fantasy which followed the same trajectory.

“Why take profits when every airline goes up 20% every day. Losers take profits. Winners push the chips to the middle. ... I should be up a billion dollars,” Portnoy said. “I’m just printing money.” _______ And he mocked Warren... Whoops!
the only things working for me today are my synthetic shorts, BA and AAL my longs took it on the chop
