Tom pulls out a custom Desert Eagle and blasts Jerry who is wearing elephant grade body armor -- Jerry returns fire with an AR-15 converted to full auto...then anvils randomly start falling from the sky crushing them both.

There were people who were up in arms when Turner decided to pull this one from it's rotation. If clutchfans existed in the 80s, there would have been a thread loaded with bombastic post about liberal SJWs turning all red blooded americans queer.

    (WARNING. Insanely racist.)

They pulled it and the world kept right on turning. All the racists were able to keep racism alive. To this day, you'll still find people complaining that they cant get "song of the south" on Blu Ray. I'd love to hear which of you think your childhood was ruined by this censorship.

Kids arent going to miss the guns.

Adding suicide to the equation is moving the goal posts - there's a thousand ways to commit suicide. (I lost an uncle to suicide last year).

As for the mentally ill .... you forget one little issue and that's the fact that they have the same constitutional protections as the rest of us and you are in general talking about a very small minority of deaths as a result of firearms when we are talking about "mentally ill".

The vast majority of deaths attributed to firearms is from crime , both organized and otherwise.
The vast majority killed by police also have something in common - they are poor and involved in some illegal activity - regardless of skin color.

So the real question is , how do you get the person who resorts to criminal activity in the first place not to take that route - which also reduces their exposure to police and the potential for police brutality.

You look out in the suburbs and this isn't an issue in general ... you look in upper class area's , this isn't happening. For the most part , this is only happening on the wrong side of the proverbial tracks - gun violence , police violence and crime in general (Yes , there are exceptions).

If we understand that both gun violence , crime in general and police brutality are symptoms of economic hardship - How do we go about fixing it ?

Why not do both? Gun laws that keep guns out of the hands of criminals, the desperate, and the mentally unstable as well as anti-poverty mesasures.

    Hey Lou...

How do you really keep criminals from accessing guns?

I know guys from my old neighborhood who got out of jail and within 2 hours they had a gun...

The gun laws they have now only hurt the legal people...

As someone stated earlier... The NRA have flooded the society with guns, so like any other product; when a new model comes out you get throw out the old one and so when that happens it ends up on the street.

For the most part , our gun acquisition laws are good - The one thing I would change is to require background checks on all sales including gun shows and private sales.

The mentally unstable is a can of worms - If they aren't felons , you are infringing upon their rights and that's simply unconstitutional.
Who's making this decision is also a highly questionable subject.
The vast majority of the mentally ill aren't out there committing crimes. The group that is , is such a small fraction that you simply cannot trample on the rights of "the rest of them" to account for those few.

It's already illegal nation wide for felons to possess a firearm. Lock their asses up and throw away the key. They've proven at least twice that they DGAF about laws.

Define "Desperate" .... sounds to me like a broad group that could easily be exploited , much like the "mentally ill".

I think people who watched this movie realized it was a time period piece
and it was made a long time ago

This. That sickle to me looks much scarier than the double barreled shot gun that he used.

If we're talking about racist cartoons, cartoons were loaded with racist stereotypes even up to recently. Consider how stereotyped this one where the Asian character and the Mexican are the good guys..

I don't think we should be making cartoons like this anymore but at the same time I don't think we should wipe out the old ones and pretend they never existed. We need these reminders about how prevalent and accepted these views were in much of American history and culture.

well people would get fired if they made cartoons like that

but it wasn’t necessary for looney tunes to remove guns cause looney tunes is cartoon violence
Guns and dynamite all over the place

As someone mentioned before is Megatron going to transform into a baseball bat now ?

I think every gun should be licensed and registered and people should be required to get a license to own a gun which includes a psychiatric evaluation. Loopholes definitely should be closed. A tiny fraction of mentally ill people are killing 1000's of people a year.

It should be like a car - the history of that car is knows - who owned it and when it was sold.
