The police dept shouldn’t be able to Let them able to resign their position in that force and be able to still work. If they want to resign then resign from the police force period
Doing us a favor, they can go flip burgers. It’s amazing how check on doing something as heinous as that would cause this. No wonder police culture is what it is . This whole situation is exposing it
it's very unfortunate what happened to the man, but it was not smart to move within inches of an advancing police line that is ordering you to get back and then put your hand near a cop's gun belt the cops definitely could have handled it better, but they were not trying to crack the man's skull in the video you can see the supervisor immediately radio for aid and order the men to advance to keep the area free from interference for rendering medical attention
I agree. The military is paid peanuts too for risking their lives. Then we have a President and his family getting rich from their positions of power. They ignore Coronavirus, deflect from the truth, spread lies, blame Democrats for everything bad, credit Republicans for BS, and divide our country. Fact: The disrespectful, dangerous, and racists come from both sides of the political parties. To thing otherwise is just plain ignorance. Spoiler The "flu" didn't magically disappear in the Spring
Then you've resigned yourself to shooting wheelchair-bound homeless men in the head with rubber bullets? There is quite possibly more to this that I don't know about yet, granted.
Well, in one sense then, it actually makes sense. If I sign up for some sort of extra duty, all risk, with no extra pay, and then two of my colleagues suspended b/c they did something dumb while doing this extra duty, and I saw that I would continually get put into tense situations that could expose my lack of judgment, I'd probably step back from that extra duty also.
As a conscionable human being, there's no way I would partake in any of the riot-gear-response. Shirt-and-pants community outreach, talking to people, 100% sure.
OMG! You fell for that. Hahahahahaha Trump has made millions changing tax laws for himself and all his companies, hotels, and golf courses. He's profited off of them for official business as well. His sons have cost taxpayers tons of money wheeling and dealing the Trump properties as well. Don't even get me started with the princess and her crooked husband with the nepotism. The $200,000 he gave up was a tactic to make himself seem honorable to the ignorant while making himself and his family millions.
Apparently in that case they were firing rubber bullets at a group of people that were seeking refuge in an apartment building. The guy in the wheelchair was “accidentally” struck by a bullet in the chaos. The fact that, 1) they felt it was necessary to shoot at a group of people that were trying to go inside, and 2) they didn’t account for the guy who was clearly not a part of the group... baffling. I honestly can’t believe anybody thinks this is ok.
I now I've posted this, but I always think back to my dad and his "riot control" detail for a week or so in Austin in the late 60's. They were there (National Guard and Army Reserve military units) with the express purpose of keeping the peace and not hurting anyone, and keeping people from getting hurt. And he was still terrified that something would go wrong. Apparently the Austin Cops were the ones who started beating people, and the cops got told to go away, posthaste. Ask @Deckard, bet he was there. I wish I remembered what year that was.
