The kids fortunately did not ever wake up early enough to find the dead. A large tract of land that was primarily just used for making Hay over the years was bought and a sub division was constructed. I believe it was due to the loss of habitat or they just live along the creek and trails invading the subdivision at night.
This is the most likely culprit (also loss of predators being run off by the construction). That's crazy, sounds like great fun, thankfully never had that problem. You can squirrel-proof bird feeders, which leads me to believe you can rat-proof them too. If yall are ever interested.
I hope your mouse/rat problem has been sorted by now, but if not, I used these humane traps and then killed them by bashing them with a shovel. Every time I tried to use the normal killing traps they'd never go in, but I've caught so many in these using peanut butter as bait.
I was thinking about it but my dog be eating anything in his path. I'm afraid he might eat that and mistaken it for mr. goodbar, lol
It's basically like warfarin, it will kill everything that eats it. Don't do it. There's better ways.
So many stories of rats dying behind walls or hard to reach places and causing an expensive house demolition
