A black person who did not understand his place told Karen to put a leash on her dog in Central Park. Karen called the police. Hilarity ensued.
I had found this and its very chilling. She actually started raising her voice like she was in imminent danger knowing what the repercussions could be. And this in NYC I am worried what this means for us as a country.
I can understand her request to not be filmed. Birder was annoyed about "people like her" who always have their dogs running free, upsetting the ground-nesting birds and barking at birders. The lady, of course, is oblivious to the concerns of birders and thought having her dog run around was no big deal. So she doesn't understand why he's being such a jerk about it, and maybe she feels a little vaguely threatened by the whole interaction. Then she turns it to 11 and makes this ridiculous threat. I was on her side until then.
Saw this on reddit feed yesterday. Didn't want to see this here...smh. Karen wasn't a former sharecropper turned trailer trash spawner. She was an investment manager who sidelined as an abusive **** dog owner. Wipipo know what they doing by supporting crooked cops with contorted arguments to ****ed up laws. I feel bad for law enforcement who try to do the right thing but are being torn in the middle. Getting more openly racist every day. THANKS OBAMA btw, bless that man They mentioned the case of Emmett Till, and “To Kill a Mockingbird,” both examples of false accusations lodged by white women at black men. Many, including Christian Cooper himself, pointed to the case of Ahmaud Arbery, a black jogger who was shot down and killed in Georgia by a group of white men earlier this year, 74 days before anyone was arrested. But Christian Cooper also said things have already gone too far. During a pandemic, he said, we all need to be kinder to one another — and respect the rules. “I’m not interested in repercussions,” he said. “It’s unfortunate what happened. There was definitely a lapse in judgment. But she put the dog on the leash, and I don’t need to see anything else happen to her.”
Yeah, I know the dog is a lesser concern, but dayum you don't handle a dog like that, especially when you're not in any real danger. Article I read said the dog is now in a shelter.
