I think they're different and I think Juan nailed it. You and I have more in common than me and O'. We both allow our emotions to filter through. O doesn't do that. He'll bait you but I don't see anything in his posts that indicates he's letting any emotion slip out.

It's hard to keep track of the IP addresses and passwords to really keep this up much longer :D

More and more, I'm glad I dont have kids.

I'm still trying to determine whether the progressive psychosis of American society is spontaneous and organic, or is the result of a plan by someone.

When have I have I ever let my emotions filter through?

I have no reason to get emotional about anything in here, I have no idea what you are talking about and yes O's has become emotional.

How do you know so much about O's when you claim you are new here?

I'm new to posting. I've been coming to this site since the 90's when it was Clutch City.com. I took interest in the D&D after 911. I remember a poster who's name resembles the green guy who stole Christmas. I don't want to unmask him...lol.

I remember I was appalled that he had the gall to blame the oil companies for the attack and speculate that it could be set up as a pretense to get back into war. I guess, looking back he may have been on to something....lol.

That's not what you have said before, you claimed you were just figuring out the place.

    Nice spin O's.

I have a two year old and one on the way.

It was always in the back of my mind when I thought about having kids, meaning what kind of world they'd come into. Now, I'm really worried.

I think all parents, each generation worry about the world their children will inherit. I worry, but I also know they'll adapt. Up to now, I'd say each generation has been better off than the previous. I feel that I was fortunate in that I've lived a free life because I hit the lottery and was born in America. That coin flip could've gone a different way. Every human should be afforded the freedom I've had, and admittedly taken for granted from time to time.

Remember, the late 60's and early 70's had similar social and political issues. Hopefully, progress continues and America'a freedoms are afforded throughout the world.

Sounds like you've just described an updated version of history's past. I hope the irony isn't lost.

It's not the end of the world. If it is, I need to make a trip to Academy.

This was my final conclusion before we had our first, to be honest.

I seriously want to send my kids on a mission, to spend time in a 3rd world country so that they fully appreciate. It didn't hit me until I spent some time in India for work. The indeginous are born into a class system with no hope. They will never be educated and they are servants to the fortunate class, born into a fortunate family. I liked the Indian culture and hope someone fights for them.

My wife and I love to travel.

We haven't really travelled in three or four years, but even going on trips to the Caribbean, we like to explore outside the resort. It's really eye opening.

I hope to give my kids these experiences, too, some day.

The Qult is being trolled but they’re too stupid and just eat it up. They are now claiming JFK Jr (died at young age in 99) is not only alive but is working for Q. But the image of him is blurred because the internet is working against Q and Trump.

Why not have 2Pac and Elvis working for Q too? Well maybe not 2Pac since he is black and I would bet a dollar most Qultists are prejudiced against people of color.

India's caste system was legally abolished long ago. There are actually quotas set up to guarantee Dalits get a certain number of spots in the education system.

Yet, you are right, it's nearly impossible to uplift dalits into the mainstream, even though India had a PM that was a Dalit some years back. Discrimination and systematic racism exists towards them even though the laws no longer do.

Doesn't this sound like another country we know? Another group of people closer to home here in America that struggle to break through into the middle class?

Good God Almighty........I never saw this epic bulls*** justification of complete douchebaggery.Try, "Shine a light....to expose the fetid corpse of the far-right mind, boiling with maggots. Including my own. Signed, T_J."

As far as the OP.....they're out there. They look human, but once you get them talking (or typing: see quoted post) you'll find yourself backing slowly away, wishing you were carrying mace.

I must object. Elvis, at 84 years old, maybe 85, has earned his retirement on Ghost Island. (Although he would likely be a Trumpanzee. Deep South, white, ,male, little education.)

I think this is a natural negative consequence of the information age.

I'm a fan of Golden Age sci-fi like Clarke and Asimov and in those days they believed that when everyone could communicate with everyone it would unite humanity and things like nationalism, racism and bigotry would disappear as we could talk to everyone. Instead what's happened is that it has just reinforced people's own bubbles. With so much information flowing out there it's hard to understand it so we naturally filter it through our own biases. As we find more things that confirm our own views, while ignoring that which doesn't it pushes us further into those beliefs.

So if I don't like Hillary Clinton and find an online community of others who don't like Hillary Clinton we self-reinforce that belief. Maybe before I just thought Hillary Clinton was shrill and didn't like her policies. Somebody post something that Hillary Clinton was personally and directly responsible for the deaths of US soldiers in Benghazi. Since I'm already inclined to not like her I find that fits my view and accept it. Next someone post that Hillary Clinton is running a child sex ring out of a pizza place. I've already accepted that Hillary Clinton is responsible for killing US soldiers so that she is capable of even greater evil seems plausible.

I'm going to be brutally honest but the events of the last month have really shaken my belief in this country.

My parents came here for the promise of education and success. My family has had that but the recent times have laid bare the failings of this country including what I think are profound misunderstandings of "freedom". Also these are failings both on the Right and the Left.

As it happens both my parents are back in Asia with my dad in HK and my mom in Singapore. Both also found a lot of success there and I have had and still have the opportunity to go there. HK is out because of the looming heavy hand of the PRC but I was offered the opportunity to become a Singaporean and probably still could. Singapore is far from perfect and the image presented by things like "Crazy Rich Asians" as wealthy wonderland mask some deep problems. That said as a country it's run rationally and pragmatically. The leaders of Singapore have their own type of corruption but they understand things like science and long term planning which has made Singapore from a seedy tropical port to the most modern country in the World.
