How did Bernie end up a multi-millionaire while never having a non-political job?

He had multiple non political jobs, he’s working into his late 70’s with a 6 figure job as a representative for 40 years, and he got the uber rare benefit of exploding in the 2016 election, making selling a ton of his books super easy.

You're right, he was a carpenter and such when he was in his 20's. Claiming he had a 6 figure job as a politician for 40+ years is not really a feather in his cap, no?

It sucks to be in the 1%

Bernie’s not even in the top 5%.

I don't know where the percentages play out, true...Nevermind about the whole thing, I'll tell my Burlington cousins that it's all good, they've only known all about the guy for 30 years or so.

I was just saying that he may not be the guy you think he is.

He might not be, nobody really knows anybody, but he sure was pushing for a lot of policies that I approve of, and it's kind of stunning that a man with a net worth of 2 million isn't even in the top 5%, isn't it?

I'll continue to appreciate him and Warren as progressive presidential candidates, until they threaten to kick some factory worker's ass or something.

I like both of those people, and I don't think either would kick anybody in the ass, except for the ones who really need it.

I was just disputing your numbers. Lots of good politicians have been chiselers.

    What numbers are you disputing?

Hard to see Bernie being a con man, but like I said nobody knows anybody. He'd be a hell of an actor though to be as consistent as he's been for as long as he's been.

Nevertheless, world-class actor/con man or not, the policies he pushed for would have done wonders for the sick, lonely old, poor and beaten down living on the hopeless, hungry side of town.

Propaganda for what purposes though? To inform people of a flawed and easily corruptable system in need of reform, or to justify ones own corruption with the "both sides do it" excuse?

Those opinion shows are highly skewed towards establishing half truths on top of narratives spun from previous episodes. Just like that threaf with the takedown of a typical Tucker Carlson segment or Laura "i claim whatever i want to justify what i want" Ingram

Greenwald might add a veneer of credibility to the "producers agenda" but to do so assumes the audience know what he's done and stood for. It's not his job to play referee and it's not like he hides his righteous "his audience deserves the truth from him" attitude unlike cable slop from either side.

If it's a gotcha moment that you're concerned about, just flip it as an opportunity to acknowledge the system is flawed and push for bipartisan reform. The lack of transparency to the amount of people with access to our daily lives should terrify all of us.

If you get a lowlife reply of not being able to trust the other side for getting it done,
maybe ask them if they were born impotent or did their balls gradually fall off from getting angry at watching cable news all the time

Propaganda that Obamagate is a real thing or do you believe it is a thing?

Greenwald participates in those opinion shows so what does that say about him?

I have no idea why you think I want a gotcha moment and I have idea what you are going on about in that last sentence, but you seem to believe just watching cable news is a bad idea and don't give credit for those that can disseminate the info given out.

Those supporters are more accelerationist then progressive. They generally hate Obama and neoliberalism as much as conservatives and neoconservatives. They are either libertarian or socialist.

I can see that and it makes sense that they would feed into these type of stories to try and burn it all down.

I might not agree with Greenwald and others on their critiques of centrism and I've certainly had my share of tussles with Progressives regarding their critiques. What bothers me though about Ball, Enjetti and others is when they push some of the same claims that Fox personalities make with about the same about of research, such as the sexual harrasment claims against Biden or that Biden has dementia. Also when they push ideas that the DNC is going to replace Biden without much evidence and just based on speculation.

I can fully understand being bitter but to pass that off as in depth analysis on a news site is irresponsible.

Dante’s hell had the mutineers and traitors at the lower circle of hell....

That’s how certain progressives view moderate Dems, as traitors and mutineers. It’s just human psychology.
