It seems like an awful dog whistle. Obama's approval rating is quite a bit higher than either Trump or Biden. And turning the election into a referendum on Obama seems like a really terrible idea. I know Trump is always trying to look for a foil but Obama might be the worst possible option for Trump.

this is not the base you're looking for: didn't vote for him in 2016; won't vote for Trump in 2020.

He's trying to maintain his base since polls seem to show some of them not approving of the way he's handling the pandemic. He figures throwing Obama's name out there will pull them back in the fold.

He has no intention of reaching out beyond his base...he figures he can win just like he did last time with the same voters...and he may end up being right. Problem is, Biden is much more popular than Hillary was so he's going to try and drag him through the mud and will go as low as he thinks he needs to in order to bloody and dirty up Biden. Tara Reade and this are only the opening salvos...I expect it to get much worse and the conspiracy theories to be pushed even further. Also, expect a last minute ploy (like the Comey announcement during the last week in 2016) that will probably will be nothing big, but they'll blow out of proportion.

It's all about flooding the media with disinformation...a Putin specialty. The more disinformation that's out there, the more people begin to question what's the truth and what's real. Honestly, should be illegal and should fall under fraud laws, but for some reason has been lumped in with free-speech laws.

I don't think it'll work. I think people are tired of the BS and with the pandemic and economy showing Trump's flaws, I think he will lose.

I think I get the strategy. Trump tends to accuse others of stuff he does so some will see their accusations against Trump as hypocritical. Trump a rapist? Well so is Biden. Trump corrupt? Well so is Biden. And so on. In this case, Trump is anticipating all the charges that might be coming from Biden's DOJ, so he's setting himself up to call it retaliation.

I've done that before. Doesn't work when too many people are feeding the trolls, but if there's one guy foolishly engaging, just cut him. I won't say anything all that insightful anyway.

Funny thing is that I think (and thought at the time) Obama didn't do nearly enough to protect the country from the scam Trump seemed to be perpetrating on the country because he was afraid of looking like he was abusing his office. A delicious irony that his halfhearted efforts are criticized as going too far.

Are we still waiting on that dude?

I can see that if you believe Flynn was not guilty and that it was plain to those in the know that he was not guilty, then the rest of all logically follows -- why target this innocent man for destruction unless its part of some nefarious scheme. However, I haven't been offered anything to make me believe Flynn is not guilty.

In January 2017, it looked like the Obama Admin would be handing the Oval Office to a new president who might have corrupt dealings with a foreign power. It would seem like the intel on this matter should get the full attention of both the president and vice president as being potentially the biggest threat the nation faced. Doesn't seem odd to me that Biden would ask for an unmasking. What is odd is not finding Obama's name. Though I'm sure he was informed too, it's that important.

I think the polls showing him trailing among voters over 65 was probably a big warning sign that he needs to work on his base.

I'm also guessing he was upset when the audio leaked of Obama criticizing his COVID-19 response so he wanted to go after Obama.

    Obamagate?

Word on the street is that Obama is a secret Muslim born in Kenya, which everyone knows is a shithole country. What more do you need to know?

He's such an idiot, he could have taken this seriously as any other president in the past well since the inception of the union would have but yet he ****ed even this up killing old people and making his base thinner by sheer stupidity. Congrats to anyone who voted for the conman, cause it's the only thing he can do well. He's the poster child for the saying "fake it till you make it."
