Black delivery driver blocked into Oklahoma neighborhood by HOA president

I thought Oklahoma is about Indians and Oil drilling... Hate Thy Neighbor season 2.

 

I have had cops called on me multiple times for just walking because old people stare out at anyone and complain when they don't recognize you. I have had cops stop me for jogging. No ****ing joke. HOA people have routinely harassed my family about ****. So yeah I believe it when I hear stories that HOA people are pricks. What I don't believe is when people make it about race unless they actually give some proof. It's more likely from my experience at least, that this HOA dude was just a dick on a power trip. I am not saying it can't be racial, it very well could be. But you need to prove it beyond just.. I think he is racist because of their skin color. That itself is a racist notion and I refuse to play that game.

I have been treated similar I even had a same race security guy try to get tough with me because I had my badge in pocket to get in door and he 'wanted to see my id' even though I used my id to enter in first place!

he was plainclothes security but I had seen his punk face and dumb tattoos or immediately I could go to the discrimination card since Im not in an affliction shirt dont look same as him without frosted tips.

Is a redneck looking dude in oklahoma a tinge on the race side ? Sure possibly and easy to go to that when maybe just maybe its not always just because he was black..

There was a gate code. Go drive around annoying hoa or try that anywhere with over zealous security and call me back.

Its not always just race ...and then it becomes only about that and thats a shame since I think that generates a snowball effect of more racism when maybe it wasnt there in first place.

Now its on them to call it race.

Its tough and stinks and someone can be racist AND still be an hoa dbag or rent a cop or just be a hoa dbag and not racist at all.

Good call not giving out customer information. If the HOA president is suspicious, he should have asked what company the dude works for and call their office about it. Delivery driver should have been the one calling the cops, not the other way around.

On racism, I can't say I know the motivations of the dumbass. But, I think we can add this incident to the long line of other incidents where people called the cops to report black people doing mundane legal things. Regardless of intentions, the aggregate effect of all this little incidents is racial discrimination. White people can quickly forget each story they heard in isolation, but for minorities it's a daily friction in their own life set to the soundtrack of things they know could happen to them because they happened to other black people. So, in the way @dachuda means racist as an input in a discrete decontextualized encounter, it can't be proven. But, as an output, as a thread in the tapestry of racial animosity black people live with every day, certainly the effect is racist.

 

It stinks and you see security rent a cops try to play tough guy in these sitautions.

Thankfully it didnt turn violent in this example white on white so could it be a race?

Right, but just because violence occurs between white people doesn't mean race isn't a factor in white-black confrontations.

Sometimes it's not, but many times it is. When there is no logical reason to stop someone doing their job as in a delivery driver - you have to suspect race. Likely these guys heard about the black dude running who got shot, and saw a black driver and figured he was up to no good.

 

What black place is there that I can't go?
