They keep going back to “unmasking” because it sounds similar to leaking or disseminating classified intel, and they know the audience for this made up conspiracy theory are ignorant.
There is no need to jump to conclusions at this point. If these folks had legitimate reasons to request unmasking, then this is fine.

Is there something specific in her tweet I posted that you find not credible? I found it to simply be a brief recap of how we as a nation got to the point where terms like "unmasking" and entities like "FISA Courts" were created and how far removed our government has gone from it's initial arguments and promises to avoid 4th amendment violations to Americans caught up in the "brave new surveillance world".
If any of that is remotely true, I'd say it's time to rollback the surveillance state. It has too much backing from the leadership of both sides and they'll do jackshit until the people are fed up with it. Who knows? It happened in the aftermath of Hoover and CIA assassinations. Maybe we too scared of our neighbors to do it again.
I find it interesting that the leading up to this election the call is vague claims against Obama and Biden with calls to prosecute them. Leading up to the last election many of these same people were chanting "LOCK HER UP!" about Hillary Clinton. Yet a few days after the election Trump himself said that he wasn't going to go after the Clintons and they were nice people. The Republican led committees also quietly ended up dropping Benghazi and email investigations concluding that nothing wrong happened.
The journal has it right, this morning: “The peaceful transition of power is a hallmark of American democracy, or at least it used to be. It isn’t supposed to be an opportunity for the Administration that lost the election to cripple its successors as they take power.”
But if you do it respectfully with a smoothness that only obama could muster up, it is ok. In fact, it is disrespectful to even bring it up.
Again interesting how this stuff is coming out now more than 3 years into the Presidency with an election looming. Trump himself at the time of transition said that Obama did a very good job helping him get into office. If the argument was because Flynn was under investigation consider that none other than Chris Christie who was initially leading the transition didn't want to offer Flynn a position in the administration. Flynn's issues weren't just something in the Obama Administration but others were concerned about him.

Whatever "villains" they can parade in front of their tired, unemployed, sick faithful voters to get them to show up. EDIT: the whole timing of this, as @rocketsjudoka noted, is beyond interesting. Here, our nation has become the absolute center and worst-case of the global pandemic, and that is when Billie Barr, soul rotted completely through, issues his jaw-dropping Flynn move, coordinated with Fox and various friends to start the drumbeat of fighting the deep state in 2016. Probably had this in their back pocket for quite some time.
