I dunno. I keep thinking the 2019 title would have been claimed as false as well, whereas any title from here on out will be a tad more legit, especially if there is real animosity/adversity to overcome. The Nationals title has become a complete afterthought. Their fan base was t thrilled at the lack of coverage during ST, and now they won’t get any of the celebrations or banner raising pomp and circumstance that goes along with winning it all.
Not saying it would have been a bed of roses, mind you. But anything's better after you've won it all. Seriously. Sucks for them. And I don't wish any ill on them. This just sucks in general.
Living rent free... and MLB and the uncontrolled media brought this upon themselves by fully endorsing the smear campaign. There are common people out there who have absolutely no interest in baseball... yet are well aware of the narrative that the Astros are bad bad bad, and everything associated with them is bad. Those narratives don’t help baseball at this time, yet the media was happy to pile on when they thought it would improve their web hits/page views without thinking about the overall damage it could cause to the sport that pays for their livelihood... and now, with the season on the brink, they’re caught between trying to save baseball or continue the sanctimony.
Sanctimonious hypocrites. F 'em all. Baseball will live with or without the media, or even MLB. Little league, college ball, amateur leagues, community softball leagues.
Not just that, but the 98 Astros were better than 05. Best team in our history until the current group
Some dude named Luke Little from San Jac JC hit 105mph on a bullpen. Got some command issues and prob a reliever, but he's tall and lefty. Potential get with our 3rd round pick??
It is the most tainted title (by FAR) of my lifetime in any sport...probably the most in any sport since the Black Sox let the Reds win.
Maybe we need to take a page out of the 90's Detroit Pistons scrapbook and find a way to make "bad", good.
Our jersey's first rise to fashion prominence was in the early 90's. We've been trending for well over 3 decades now and first kicked up with the hip hop generation. It's timeless. and Dated. And caught on well before the retro fashion trends became popular and available. It's been a peculiar ride. Ridiculed for well over two decades, and then busting out at about the same time as the Rockets. It's definitely representative of our country's heritage. Only a few jerseys in the history of jerseys can say that. I'm quite sure none of us saw it coming. Yet here it is. The Rockets pajamas have not faired as well, but are equally disturbing.
I'd argue the pajama jerseys are far more disturbing than the rainbow guys. I wouldn't even call the rainbow guys disturbing. Little league, college, and independent teams have modeled jerseys after the rainbow gut for decades. No one's copying the dumpster fire that replaced the mustard & ketchup. You're comparing a da Vinci to finger paint, imo.
The Astros are moving to the metric system in order to more accurately represent Altuve's true height before negotiations. He is now 1.68 M tall. Weighing in at just 75kg.
Not surprising... and since he’s already signed for the next 6 years, shouldn’t need a major contract negotiation any time soon. Maybe his new agent will be able to secure non Gallery Furniture endorsement spots as well. In the end, Bregman (not Altuve, Correa, or Springer) is the likely face/leader of this franchise for the rest of the decade.
