I am sick of seeing black people shot and killed for doing things like jogging or eating ice cream in their own damn apartment.

FWIW this isn’t just a problem in the USA but world wide. There is no group on earth universally treated as bad as black people.

At what point is this going to stop... I have concluded that many people do not view black people as PEOPLE, but some characterization. Hell look at the dehumanization of black men in p*rn.

It is disgusting and everyone should be ashamed and try to change it.

I posted here because I wanted to vent but didn't want to on Facebook. Same issues with thse people.

Someone mentioned okJason Whitlock who wrote about Lebron's outrage. That's what I started on and its led to this.

Side note. Its irritating when you guys think I'm lying to people I don't know on this site. Why would I lie to you?

When I say I don't care about this topic, the father and son been arrested

Edit: I entered the thread to see if topic came up, it did, I vented. If it hadn't come I wouldn't have mentioned it.

Black people my age love when this happens because we don't have a fight so we're fighting the same fight our parents and older generations fought

We are like children scared to venture out. This is familiar. We don't know how to criticize ourselves, we only know victimhood.

I that sounds like Rush and Hannity but broken clocks.

The Black people who acknowledge the issue do something about it such as funding high schools that give free rides to universities like LeBron or supporting politicans who want to provide health care coverage to all citizens, criminal justice reform and free access to early childhood education and increases in minimum wage.

People constantly b****ing about culture without having any desire to discuss the solutions seem to just desire being on a high horse.

Ya Obama disappointed me but I also understand pragmatism and there is no way a universal healthcare bill would pass even with Democrat majority in both chambers because there are plenty of Democrats in conservative leaning districts and states that have a absurd view on public healthcare being a step forward to the USSR and there are plenty of Demcrats who are backed by insurance companies.

No one is telling individual Black people to try their hardest to succeed in life regardless of a system and economic conditions that are stacked against you. Dude, try your damn hardest to succeed in life the lawful way. No one is telling you not to.

Once every 3-4 years a thread comes along that really showcases how truly deranged some of the posters here are.

This is one of those threads.

You stated the Zimmerman trial was a bad ruling. Nearly all legal experts agree it was the RIGHT ruling. My point is and continues to be that "looking for trouble" is not a crime.

This isn't about morality or whether or not these people, or Zimmerman, should go to jail. Obviously both of us feel they do.

This is about law and the justice system. And it works in a very specific way. You can disagree with the laws, or how the case was run, but the jury made the right decision based on the evidence presented to them. There was no stand your ground applied to zimmerman and it won't apply to this case either.

Looking for trouble is not a crime. It's also very difficult to prove beyond a reasonable doubt in this case. More likely they can make a case that they were protecting the neighborhood.

Georgia statute is that you must have first hand account of a felony such as physically witnessing a crime to legally detain someone as a citizen. They didn't.

So they didn't have any grounds to chase him down with firearms. This is a pretty easy man slaughter case in my opinion.

From what I understand after reading some of the posts he committed a number of crimes

    1. Not wearing clothes that are easily identified as running clothes.

    2. Not running in his own neighborhood

    3. Not stopping to have a friendly chat with a couple of guys holding guns on him

    4. Perhaps being caught on some video coming out of a house under construction

    5. Shoplifting years earlier

    6. Not being white

You view race as a competition. that is why you fail.

I see through it and know you are the most race obsessed person on this board.

irie irie but remember - until the color of a mans skin is of no more significance than the color of his eyes me say war ..

    Until the philosophy
Which hold one race superior and another
    Inferior
    Is finally
    And permanently
    Discredited
    And abandoned
    Everywhere is war
    Me say war

I stated in the Trayvon Martin thread that I felt the DA did a bad job and overreached on the charges. I wasn't surprised when Zimmerman was acquitted and I chalk that up to the piss poor job the DA did and also the problems with FL's self-defense laws. It wouldn't surprise me if that happens here.

"Looking for trouble" isn't a delineated crime but as both of us have stated it undercuts a self-defense argument. As other posters have noted the McMichaels had no legal reason to pursue Arbery yet they did and did so armed. That says either they intended to kill him or that they felt he was a threat that they needed to arm themselves. Either reason points to them looking for trouble and not them just going about innocently and suddenly being assaulted by Arbery necessitating them to kill him in self-defense.

Arbery though had every right under GA law to defend himself from a man pointing a firearm at him. That is a clear threat and he has no duty to retreat or surrender. Arbery didn't put himself in that situation, he wasn't looking for trouble, it found him.

I don't know if anything is ever easy.

just look at the statements you have made here. Was he chased down? It does not seem so. It appears they were ahead and made a roadblock. It appears arbery initiated physical confrontation.

You have to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that his death was a result of criminal negligence.
