No one says anything. This happens and blacks act like it happens all the time. Anytime this happens it deserves the coverage it receives but the on and on about us being hunted is ridiculous. Especially considering our internal issues

Do black people then get to go home for 2 months after killing another black man? Do DA’s see video of the murder and say there’s no cause for an arrest? If Arbery had chased a McMichael and killed him, would he have been able to give some bogus statement and be on his way?

The shooters knew Arbery and were involved in a prosecution of Arbery.

A neighbor is listed as a "victim" in the police report and he is the one with the surveilance system.

"The owner of a home under construction near the scene of Arbery's February 23 shooting, listed as a victim in the police report, said his surveillance system captured a man who appeared to be Arbery "coming onto his property" on that day.
The homeowner, who declined to share the clips with CNN, said there were previous videos on other occasions showing a man entering the property and stealing fishing tackle but he could not identify the man and he did not file a police report."

That doesn't sound like it meets the criteria for a "citizens arrest." The neighbor and the cameraman will be the key witnesses if it goes to trial.

 

How many black men have killed black men in between this and Trayvon Martin?

How many whites killed black men in that time. You can include police incidents

It is distressing to see Zimmerman go free and these guys not initially arrested but this isn't the root cause of our problems.

Your reaction to my post is exhibit A. These are media events. Black men aren't being hunted by white men. The media coverage isn't the problem the reaction that this is our main problem is the problem

 

The problems you are discussing are solved through policy decisions that the people you criticize for "not caring" support such as expanding healthcare coverage, free early childhood education, better funding for k-12 education etc.

You ain't going to solve those problems with normative ought statements about improving "culture". That never works.

 

What do you know about my though8on healthcare? Does improving healthcare stop attempting improving culture?

Every time I talk about internal Improvement people like you who stereotype others based on their thoughts on one subject and ASSume and make the same mistake and think I'm against improving things like healthcare

Because you seem to only care about stating the problem rather than discussing about the solution. And you also seem to only bring up the problem as a devil's advocate position when BLM type advocates discuss racial bias they experience.

It just seems like a mechanism you use to dismiss discussing this particular issue.

The fact that we haven't had healthcare discussions tells me you don't discuss solutions much.

Nobody starts threads about dumb black on black dysfunctional violence so this is when I bring it up

Black on Black crime primarily effects African Americans who live in poor ghettos with gang violence.

There are thousands of black families who don't live in those conditions and they are the ones who probably live in predominantly white suburbs where they might fear doing mundane tasks such as jogging or walking home with a bag of Skittles.

Those people probably do have legitimate concerns.

 

How many black men have been killed while jogging by white men?

 

We discuss the solutions to them all the time. The people you are criticizing are the ones who support the policies that will actually help improve their conditions. Poor black children from poor black families resort to gang membership because there isn't the sufficient infrustrcture around them to see a an alternative decision that takes care of their family. Children from poorer families tradionally have more responsibility. Some have to take care of sibling or provide some side under the table income to the family through gang activities because their mother can't afford essential things such as medication. Poor children often have to have a larger responsibility in taking care of younger siblings because the mother or both parents have to work long hours. All these things take away time from caring about their education. So programs like free early childhood education would help alleviate these problems.

 

I'm sure plenty have been unnecessarily harassed by residents and local law enforcement for simple things such as swimming in a apartment complex pool they are residents of. Being murdered isn't the only way people experience racial biases. You do know that right?

 

The first solution is admitting there is a problem.

The problem is poverty. I've discussed what I believe are the solutions to said poverty. So yes.

No one is denying that there is a poverty and crime problem in poor inner city black neighborhoods. We all know that. We all discuss the 400 years of history that caused this modern predicament.
