I rellay loved Luthor but that last season was a head scratcher - ESPECIALLY the last episode. I've become addicted to Midsomer Murders. And although it's a French drama, Maigret with Rowan Atkinson is also good in the classic detective story vein.
What I like most about Midsomer is CI Barnaby's calm methodical approach to solving the crime(s). I also like how Barnaby and his partner do not carry firearms. I also get a kick out of just how much "badness" can exist in those tranquil English countrysides (those little old ladies can be lethal!). I find them also not as formulistic as their American crime counterparts.
I'm so late to the party, but just finished Luther last night and I loved it! Idris Elba is just fantastic.
I watched the 1st season and it was bonkers, not in a good way, just too much that was implausible. I started trying to watch the season With Keeley Hawes made it through the 1st episode excited to see more but when they threw the officer out of a window I baled, they just turn in up to 11 for no reason. I am gonna watch that entire series just to see where it goes and because I love Hawes.
